Preface

N.M.A.M. Institute of Technology, Nitte, Karnataka, India, organized the Interna-tional Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering (ICETE 2020) on 22 and 23December 2020, which is the 10th international conference being organized since2011. From the year 2019, in an effort to focus on the specific issues associated withvarious engineering disciplines, the idea of a multi-conference platform has beenmooted.

ICETE 2020—a multi-conference platform—was a collection of several interna-tional conferences with the themes specific to various engineering streams. Besides, there was an opportunity for the students and research scholars of various branchesof engineering and technology, and industrial professionals to present and discussresearch papers.

Civil Engineering Trends and Challenges for Sustainability (CTCS 2020) wasorganized by the Department of Civil Engineering, N.M.A.M. Institute of Tech-nology, Nitte, under the umbrella of ICETE 2020. CTCS 2020 was a platform forthe exchange of knowledge from both individual and interdisciplinary researcherspertaining to Civil Engineering Challenges and Sustainability. This internationalconference aimed to bring together the researchers, scientists, engineers, scholarsand students in an international forum for the dissemination of original researchresults in the domain areas of Civil Engineering.

This proceedings volume contains the full-length research papers, experiencereports and empirical study plans. All of these submissions went through a rigorouspeer-review process commensurate with their track. In all, 175 research papers weresubmitted, with each of them being reviewed by a minimum of two experts. Uponpeer review, 90 papers were accepted for presentation in the conference. Presenta-tions were reviewed and ranked by the track chairs and discussed with the industry
