One is destructive when attachment.

One is a product of Love.

What do we fear

• Loss of income

• Losing People

• Losing social Status

• Losing Beauty

• Losing youth

• Losing Power

• Losing our Identity

ਠਹਕਿ ਠਹਕਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਕਿ ਮੂਏ ॥ Those who are totally absorbed and preoccupied with Maya are dead;

ਉਆ ਿੈ ਿੁਸਲ ਨ ਿਤਹੂ ਹੂਏ ॥ they do not find happiness anywhere.

We fear losing these things because we Love them- but these things only bring pain.

ਹਮ ਿੀਆ ਹਮ ਿਰਹਿੇ ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਿਾਵਾਰ ॥ I have done this, and I will do that - I am an idiotic fool for saying this!

ਿਰਣੈ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਵਸਕਰਆ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਕਿਆਰੁ ॥ I have forgotten the Doer of all; I am caught in the love of duality.

ਮਾਇਆ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਨਹੀ ਸਕਭ ਭਕਵ ਥਿੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ There is no pain as great as the pain of Maya; it drives people to wander all around the world, until they become exhausted.

ਜੀਅ ਜੁਿਕਤ ਜਾ ਿੈ ਹੈ ਹਾਥ ॥ Our way of life is in His Hands;

ਸੋ ਕਸਮਰਹੁ ਅਨਾਥ ਿੋ ਨਾਥੁ ॥ remember Him, the Master of the masterless.

ਿਰਭ ਕਿਕਤ ਆਏ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ When God comes to mind, all pains depart.

ਭੈ ਸਭ ਕਿਨਸਕਹ ਹਕਰ ਿੈ ਨਾਇ ॥੧॥ All fears are dispelled through the Name of the Lord. ||1||

ਕਿਨੁ ਹਕਰ ਭਉ ਿਾਹੇ ਿਾ ਮਾਨਕਹ ॥ Why do you fear any other than the Lord?

ਹਕਰ ਕਿਸਰਤ ਿਾਹੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਾਨਕਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Forgetting the Lord, why do you pretend to be at peace? ||1||Pause||

People love who they think they are but don’t recognize they are Waheguru.

ਹਮ ਿਡ ਿਕਿ ਿੁਲੀਨ ਹਮ ਿੰਕਡਤ ਹਮ ਜੋਿੀ ਸੰਕਨਆਸੀ ॥ I am a great poet, of noble heritage; I am a Pandit, a religious scholar, a Yogi and a Sannyaasi; ਕਿਆਨੀ ਿੁਨੀ ਸੂਰ ਹਮ ਦਾਤੇ ਇਹ ਿੁਕਿ ਿਿਕਹ ਨ ਨਾਸੀ ॥੨॥ I am a spiritual teacher, a warrior and a giver - such thinking never ends. ||2|| ਿਹੁ ਰਕਵਦਾਸ ਸਭੈ ਨਹੀ ਸਮਝਕਸ ਭੂਕਲ ਿਰੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਿਉਰੇ ॥ Says Ravi Daas, no one understands; they all run around, deluded like madmen. ਮੋਕਹ ਅਿਾਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਰਾਇਨ ਜੀਵਨ ਿਰਾਨ ਿਨ ਮੋਰੇ ॥੩॥੧॥ The Lord's Name is my only Support; He is my life, my breath of life, my wealth. ||3||1||

What is the point of human life without love for God.

ਜਨਮੇ ਿਾ ਫਲੁ ਕਿਆ ਿਣੀ ਜਾਂ ਹਕਰ ਭਿਕਤ ਨ ਭਾਉ ॥ What should I account as the rewards of this human life, if one does not feel love and devotion to the Lord? ਿੈਿਾ ਖਾਿਾ ਿਾਕਦ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਮਕਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ॥ Wearing clothes and eating food is useless, if the mind is filled with the love of duality. ਵੇਖਣੁ ਸਨੁਣਾ ਝੂਠੁ ਹੈ ਮੁਕਖ ਝੂਠਾ ਆਲਾਉ ॥ Seeing and hearing is false, if one speaks lies. ਨਾਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਕਹ ਤੂ ਹਰੋੁ ਹਉਮ ੈਆਵਉ ਜਾਉ ॥੧੧॥ O Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord; everything else is coming and going in egotism. ||11|| ਹੈਕਨ ਕਵਰਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਣੇ ਫਲੈ ਫਿੜ ੁਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੧੨॥ The Saints are few and far between; everything else in the world is just a pompous show. ||12||

Definition of Naam

ਕਤਸੁ ਰੂਿੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਅਨਾਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ਸਿਦੁ ਕਨਰੰਜਕਨ ਿੀਆ ॥੧॥ The Name has no form or outline; it vibrates with the unstruck Sound Current; through the Word of the Shabad, the Immaculate Lord is revealed. ||1||

ਿੋਕਵੰਦ ਿਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਵਾਜੇ ਅਿਰਜ ਸੋਭ ਿਣਾਈ ॥ When the Lord of the Universe reveals Himself, and the unstruck melody of the sound current vibrates, the drama of wondrous splendor is enacted.

Do you fear losing God. Without Naam you lose God.

ਭੈ ਕਵਕਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਭੈ ਮਰੈ ਭੀ ਭਉ ਮਨ ਮਕਹ ਹੋਇ ॥ In fear we are born, and in fear we die. Fear is always present in the mind.

ਨਾਨਿ ਭੈ ਕਵਕਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ਸਕਹਲਾ ਆਇਆ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ O Nanak, if one dies in the fear of God, his coming into the world is blessed and approved. ||1||

If we Fear God, We will Learn to Meet God and the first part is through Jap.

ਿਕਰ ਕਿਰਿਾ ਸੰਤ ਕਮਲੇ ਮੋਕਹ ਕਤਨ ਤੇ ਿੀਰਜੁ ਿਾਇਆ ॥ In their Mercy, the Saints have met me, and from them, I have obtained satisfaction.

ਸੰਤੀ ਮੰਤੁ ਦੀਓ ਮੋਕਹ ਕਨਰਭਉ ਿੁਰ ਿਾ ਸਿਦੁ ਿਮਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ The Saints have given me the Mantra of the Fearless Lord, and now I practice the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3||

Through Japna we realize what Naam is.

ਸਕਭ ਜਿ ਸਕਭ ਤਿ ਸਭ ਿਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ All meditation, all austerities, and all clever tricks, ਊਝਕੜ ਭਰਮੈ ਰਾਕਹ ਨ ਿਾਈ ॥ lead one to wander in the wilderness, but he does not find the Path. ਕਿਨੁ ਿੂਝੇ ਿੋ ਥਾਇ ਨ ਿਾਈ ॥ Without understanding, he is not approved; ਨਾਮ ਕਿਹੂਣੈ ਮਾਥੇ ਛਾਈ ॥੧॥ without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, ashes are thrown upon one's head. ||1||

ਭੈ ਰਕਿ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਿਾਹਕਰ ਜਾਇ ॥ They remain absorbed in the fear of God; they never leave it.

ਿੀਮਕਤ ਿਉਣ ਰਹੈ ਕਲਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੫॥ Who can estimate their value? They remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord. ||5||
