Happy Pentecost Sunday as we celebrate the birthday of our Holy Catholic Church. This is the day when we
also transition from Easter time into the Ordinary time of the Church. We will begin bringing out the green and begin our summer journey as a Church. There are many other transitions going on in our world and families also. We have many of our young people who have graduated from University, from High School, from 8th Grade and yes, even Kindergarten and are mov-ing to a new phase in their lives.
We send forth our prayers to each one of the graduates as they begin these transitions in a world that is very different than anyone had dreamed. Many families have experienced a “virtual” graduation where the hugs, the hand-shakes and joyous gatherings have been limited to immediate family. (Continued on page 5...)
Ven, Espíritu Santo, llena los corazones de tus fieles y enciende en ellos el fuego de tu amor. Envía tu Espíritu y todo será creado. Y repuebla la faz de la tierra.
Feliz domingo de Pentecostés mientras celebramos el cumpleaños de nuestra Santa Iglesia Católica. Este es el día en que también pasamos a de la temporada de Pascua a temporada de tiempo ordinario de la Iglesia. Co-menzaremos a sacar el verde y comenzaremos nuestra jornada de verano como Iglesia. Hay muchas otras transiciones en nuestro mundo y en nues-tras familias también. Hay muchos de nuestros jóvenes que se han gradua-do de la universidad, de la escuela secundaria, del octavo grado y, sí, inclu-so, del Kinder y están pasando a una nueva etapa en sus vidas.
Enviamos nuestras oraciones a cada uno de los graduados cuando comien-zan estas transiciones en un mundo que es muy diferente de lo que cual-quiera había soñado. Looking forward to the Return of Masses
The Parish Staff is beginning to plan for the day when we will all be able to return to the church. Our prayers continue so that this day is soon. Currently, we are asking for help from our Parishioners in two ways:
1. We would like feedback from you of what you would like us to do so you feel safe returning to Mass. Please email us at [email protected] with your suggestions.
2. As you may suspect, we will need volunteers to undertake these tasks. We are currently looking for a pool of volunteers that fit in the “non-vulnerable “ category (below the age of 60, with no pre-existing conditions) to help us in such tasks as prepare and clean the church before and after Masses and in organizing so we can maintain social distancing practices. If you are willing and able to help us, please contact us at the Parish Office through email or phone.

Cambios inevitables
Decía Sócrates que el secreto del cambio está en enfocar toda nuestra energía, no en luchar contra lo viejo, sino en construir lo nuevo.
Aprovechemos los cambios que nos ha traído esta crisis. Cambios en los demás, en nuestro entorno… en nosotros mismos. Todo ha cambiado, ha sido inevitable.

Mientras seguimos esperando el día en que estas simples acciones humanas se conviertan en la norma nue-vamente, seguimos buscando formas de ser una comunidad acercándonos mutuamente en acción de gra-cias, felicitaciones y obsequios de esperanza.
Nos unimos en oración por estos graduados: por aquellos que se han graduado de la universidad ... que en-cuentren empleo y seguridad, por los que se hayan graduado de high school ... que encuentren gracia y paz en sus futuros estudios o trabajo a medida que avanzan, hacia aquellos graduándose de octavo grado ... que sus continuos estudios den un gran fruto en el conocimiento de Dios y el mundo.
Oremos…Oh Dios, que has iluminado los corazones de tus hijos con la luz del Espíritu Santo, háznos dóciles a sus inspiraciones, para gustar siempre el bien y gozar de su consuelo. Por Jesucristo nues-tro Señor. Amén.

While we all hope for the day when these simple human actions will become the norm again, we continue to seek ways to be community by reaching out to each other in thanksgiving, congratulations and gifts of hope.
We join together in prayer for these graduates: for those who have graduated university…may they find em-ployment and security, for those who have graduated high school…may they find grace and peace in their future studies or work as they move forward, to those graduating 8th grade…may their continued studies bear great fruit in knowledge of God and the world.
Let us pray. O God who instructed the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit: grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in his consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Self-Control: Take a deep breath and count to ten. This is simple advice that we often give to our children to curb the impetuous and hurtful respons-es. Self-Control is the necessary pause in respond-ing to move away from the temptation of sin and seek to even in disagreement we build community.
Bringing the intention into your family/relationships: Renew and review those little practices you use or may have used to teach self-control. Do we practice some of these same actions when we text, email or use other social media?
Discussion starter: Reflect on a time when you practiced or lost your self-control and invite others in the family to share how they practice self-control daily.
Spiritual Bouquet: During the Pentecost weeks write a prayer asking the Holy Spirit to fill your child with the gift of Understanding.
