What is Lebanon Security Update?

Lebanon Security Update is designed to give the user a simple fast and accurate picture of the

at all times existing security situation in Lebanon.

In addition to the terror related security updates, push alert on natural hazards will also be

given to the user.

The user will also benefit from the applications updated traffic information.

The interactive map always shows the exact position of the user and alerts him/her when

moving from a low risk to a medium or high-risk zone.

The integrated Buddy – Buddy feature and SOS features enhances the overall security of the

user in allowing for his Buddies to be informed up front prior to travelling to troublesome areas

in Lebanon and in worst case scenario to send a Distress Message to the Buddies with a

detailed and accurate geo-positioning without first having to locate the number of the persons

who needs to be notified – just one simple click on the SOS button will allow for up to 5 Buddies

to be notified at once.

This allows for the professionals to plan and inform their security officers about planned travel

to troublesome areas in Lebanon if by the time the event is scheduled to end the user does not

cancel or extent the event the Buddies will receive detailed tracking information from the start

of the event till the time of notification. The tracking information (bread crumbs) continues to

send until the time the event is either cancelled or the telephone is switched off.

This feature allows for the security officials and local authorities to get a head start in the

search and rescue of the user.

As a parent you might also consider using the application in keeping track of the whereabouts

of your child.

Security and Privacy

We have taken every possible step to ensure your privacy, thus the tracking device can only be

activated by the user himself and all of the Buddies are notified up front via the application that

the user have chosen them as his/her Buddy – Buddy ensuring that the Buddy – Buddy

understands his/her responsibility in ensuring the safety of his/her colleague, friend, spouse,

child etc.

Buddy - Buddy Feature

The Buddy – Buddy feature is a unique possibility for the user to:

Predefine up to five Buddies who will act as his/her guardian angle.

The Buddies will be the ones to be alerted in case of a non-response from the user at a mutual

agreed time thus alerting that the user might be in need of assistance.

How does it work?

The user needs to create his Buddy or Buddies on the application by pressing the big +

1) Open the Buddy Buddy feature and Manage (create) your Buddies.

2) Insert the name of the user.

3) Insert the telephone number of the user.

4) Insert the email of the user.

5) Save the Buddy.

The user can save up to 5 Buddies.

All Buddies will automatically by mail and SMS be notified from the application that user so and so has

created them as a Buddy.

It is highly recommended to always have more than one Buddy created in the system in order to create

a backup amongst the Buddies in case of one is absent or has his/her telephone or email switched off.

The Buddies will now for as long as they are designated Buddy to the user be receiving Security Alert

Notifications and SOS notifications from his/her Buddy should he or she activate this feature.

How to Manage Your Security Alert / Notification

This feature allows for the user to notify his Buddies when he is planning an event, which might take him

to a high-risk area.

There can only be one event at any given time active on the user’s application.

The user needs to create his Buddy or Buddies on the application by pressing the big +

1) Insert the name of the event

2) Insert the Start Time of the event

3) Insert the End Time of the event.

4) SAVE the event

Ad 1. It is important that the user be as specific and precise up front when adding an event – i.e. the

event name will give a lot of information up front to his Buddies.

I.E. Trip to XYZ, up front the designated Buddies will know that their Buddy is traveling not only to a High

Risk Zone but they also have details of the location.

Ad. 2 When entering the event Start Time please note that the event can never start in the past it has to

be at present time or in the future.

Ad. 3. When creating an End Time for the Event be as realistic as possible as this timing will be the key to

possible future action by not only the user but more so his Buddies.

In general this feature will when saved notify all Buddies about the upcoming event by mail and SMS.

5 minutes prior to the end time the user will be receiving a push notification informing him to either

cancel or edit the event.

By cancelling the event he will indicate to his Buddies that he is OK and out of danger. By editing the

event he will set a new End time notifying his Buddies that he did not make the first End Time, he is still

in need for his Buddies to monitor his movements.

SHOULD THE USER FAIL TO EITHER OF THE ABOVE THE BUDDIES MUST ASSUME THAT THEIR BUDDY IS IN

NEED OF THEIR URGENT ASSISTANCE, AND THEY SHOULD RESPOND IN ACCORDANCE TO THEIR

ARRANGED SECURITY PROTOCOL AND TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTIONS TO RECOVER & RESCUE THEIR

BUDDY.

Security Updates

The user will be receiving Live PUSH NOTIFICATIONS regarding SECURITY and Traffic incidents on his

application.

The NOTIFICATIONS can be displayed in the following ways:

A) In the MENU under Security Updates

B) Or on the Interactive Map (when placing the mouse on the location it will give the user a

description of what happened and allowing for the user to show his own location in relation to the

event.

Hotlines

Under Hotlines the User will be able to find the most important Police and Rescue Service Numbers used

in Lebanon. By clicking on the Service needed the user will be prompted as shown below.

Under Embassies the user will be able to find all accredited embassies to Lebanon.

Under other numbers the user will be able to find other useful numbers which might come in handy for

the user, and in some cases when available the link of the Governmental Office or Organization has been

added as well (in some cases the webpage will open in Arabic however, there will be an English language

option on the page).

SOS Feature

In the case of immediate danger the user has the option of pressing his SOS button.

Once activated the user is requested to send a SMS message / an automated email will also be

forwarded to the Buddies, who will be notified immediately informing them that their Buddy (the user)

has sent them a distress call for immediate action.

The information will be sent to the Buddies by mail and push notification informing them of the last

know position of the user at the time of the Distress Call.

IT IS VITAL FOR ALL USERS NOT TO ABUSE AND USE THIS FEATURE IN VAIN. THIS FEATURE COULD

SAVE THE USER IN CASE OF A REAL TIME EMMERGENCY.
