The Pope in England to beatify Cardinal Newman Pope Benedict lands in Britain and Scotland on the 16th and till the19th of September. This is the first formal visit of the Holy Pontiff as a state president to England, after the Britain King visited four times the Vatican since 1903. The Pope makes this visit also in his capacity of the Head of the Catholic Church.

His visit culminates in the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman in Birmingham who was born in London in 1801, converted from Anglicanism to Catholicism in 1845. Cardinal Newman is considered the Britain greatest thinker in the 19th century and his be-atification is a very important event in the United Kingdom and the States.
