Batch of 2027

Leaves are falling

To the ground without a sound

Days are getting shorter

Nights are growing longer

Fall is here , fall is there.

Autumn is not only a wonderful time of year with crunchy, colorful

leaves and cooler weather, but it is also a great time to learn some new

facts and explore the nature. The month of October at Indus was

filled with more learning and celebrations.

SLC- The month began with a bang as students of PP1 organized

Students’ Led Conference [SLC] as culmination of Underwater World

theme. An Exhibition was put up where they displayed theme –based

craft items prepared by them for a social cause. Parents took the

pledge, enjoyed floor games, fishing game and contributed whole-

heartedly to the success of the event.

DUSSHERA CELEBRATION- Children learnt the deep embedded

message of celebrating Dusshera as a festival where we promise to

overcome our evils and vices and work to become a better person. As

symbolic of the festival they created an effigy of Ravana also.

ORANGE COLOUR DAY CELEBRATION- Orange is the color of the

autumn season. Children came in orange color dress and learnt making

this color by the concept of color mixing

LITERARY WEEK- The fourth week of the month was devoted to

literary activities in different forms as mentors narrated stories and

also did role-plays. Children thoroughly enjoyed them and came up with

beautiful reflections of the same. The week culminated with children

presenting their linguistic skills in various forms as they sang songs,

rhymes, narrated stories and chanted shloka and shabad.

PMI- A PMI is an important event at Indus as both parents and

mentors share and give mutual feedback about the child’s growth. This

time it was even more important as children were given their Term 1

Report Cards. Parents came to know about the progress made by their

children.

COOKING WITHOUT FIRE- Children made use of their little hands

to spread butter, put veg slices and decorate to make Veg sandwiches

as part of their learning of cooking without fire. They also relished the

same.

GREETING CARD MAKING COMPETITION- The festive month came

to an end bringing out more creativity and artistic skills of children as

they made beautiful Greeting cards based on festive theme using

variety of decorative.

ACADEMICS

English- Children learnt to write Ato E in four line notebook.

Hindi-Children moved ahead in Hindi as they learnt to read ka,cha,ta

varg.

Numeracy- Children progressed in numeracy as they learnt writing

numbers till 18. They also did backward counting 10-1 .They have also

learnt the concept of after.

EVS- As part of their ongoing autumn theme, children learnt the

interesting facts about the autumn season as season of fall. They

learnt about the shedding of leaves, change in the color of leaves to

yellow, orange, peach and brown. They were acquainted with the fruits

and vegetables of the Autumn Season through flash cards and general

discussion. They were taken for a Nature walk where they got a

firsthand experience of leaves fall, color of the leaves, rattling noise

made by leaves and leafless trees covered with flowers. Children also

did stories and rhymes around the theme that helped in developing

their Linguistic Intelligence.
