This is one step toward that goal! Join Leavenworth’s The Bubblery: A Soap Company, for a class on making your own shampoo and conditioner bars. Shawna Lassen, owner of The Bubblery, will teach you how to take the step away from commercial shampoos and conditioners, which are often made with harsh ingredients and in plastic containers that aren’t easily recycled. We will be formulating a pre-made base that is palm free, sulfate free and vegan, specific for your own hair type. We will also learn how to blend essential oils and herbs that benefit your hair. There will be several options from which to choose and each participant will leave with a shampoo and conditioner bar. No lye will be used in this class. No need to bring anything, just wear clothing that you don’t mind getting a little oily or soapy. Cost is $20 with a limit of 10 participants. Waiting list available.

They sing of color, of beauty, and joy.” Weaving is active meditation. The focus of the course will be on designing and weaving a bag or wall piece exploring color, texture, and inlay. The projects will push creative boundaries for all skill levels. Participants will learn all steps of the weaving process, from designing, preparing yarns, dressing their own loom, and weaving their project. All experience levels welcome, including beginners.
