What are leased lines?Also known as Private circuits or Data lines, Leased lines provide a dedicated, low-cost, always-on, highly secure private communications link between two or more locations. Leased Lines can be used to carry voice (Interconnect paths) or Data.

What options are available?There are three types of Leased Line:

• Analogue

• Digital

• Channelised E1 (2 Mbit/s)

Where high speed is not a priority, Analogue Private Circuits offer an inexpensive solution. They’re particularly useful for customers with two or more sites in Ireland that need to be constantly and securely in touch with each other.

Digital private circuits are ideal for linking low-speed local area networks (LANs). They also support applications such as stock control, online access to host computer, ordering systems and remote printing facilities for PC users at branch offices.

Channelised lines allow customers who have a number of private circuits connected to their premises, to combine them into a single circuit. Typically running at 2 Mbps, channelised lines are a popular option for customers needing national network diversity.

• Point-to-point connection between your customer via our exchange and your network -usually a Point of Handover (PoH) in an exchange or data centre

• Delivered on Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) infrastructures in a wide range of bandwidths

• Channelised E1 (2 Mbit/s)

How is the service supported?Our highly trained engineers offer national coverage and set response times and our Account Teams and helpdesks are always there to answer your questions and concerns.
