The 2290 Series Leased Line Extenderis a SmartNode that enables end usersto deploy Leased-line applications like

an Always On connection even on theInternet. Using only one Extender on eachside, audio Leased-Lines can be transportedover a packet-based network. This means:Internet connection in two different locationsaround the world is sufficient to establish upto four Leased-Lines between these two loca-tions!

Many Service Providers are moving awayfrom their TDM backbone networks and theirAnalog leased lines offerings. The 2290series offers Service Providers a chance tooffer the same services like Always ON con-nections on Analog leased lines over their IPbased networks.

To Enterprises, it offers a chance to move tobest effort networks like the Internet and

enjoy the same benefits of using AnalogLeased Lines on theexisting LAN networkthey have alreadydeployed. In addition, itallows them to use LANsto provide Intra-OfficeAlways ON lines insteadof a dedicated web of telephone wires.

After installation, the connection betweentwo 2290 extenders can establish immediate-ly. It also reestablishes after any network dis-ruption. The connection can also be securedwith Hardware-Accelerated 3DES or AESencryption end-to-end between the extenders, preventing wiretapping and making Pattonthe right choice for security conscious enter-prises.
