• Make your own ice-lolly using fruit, diluting juice and lolly sticks. • Talk about how to stay safe in the sun over summer. • Talk about how to play outside safely during the summer.

Expressive Art • Draw or paint a picture of a bright summer’s day. • Design a summer hat. • Role Play being in an ice cream parlour. • Draw a picture of what makes you think of summer.

Summer Ideas Summer Reading Challenge is back for 2020 with ‘Silly Squad’! The Challenge encourages children aged 4 to 11 to enjoy the benefits of reading for pleasure over the summer holidays, providing lots of fun and enjoyment as well as helping to prevent the summer reading ‘dip’. This year, the Summer Reading Challenge’s Silly Squad will celebrate funny books, happiness and laughter. To Primary 2, A big thank you to you and your families for working hard to complete the activities on the grid, for sending me emails, photos and tweets. It has been great to keep in touch with you during this time. I’ve loved every minute of teaching and getting to know you all. I’m just sorry that our time was cut short and I have missed you all lots. I wish you all the best as you move on to Primary three!
