Learning at home with Year 2 Barn Owls

Another fantastic week from Year 2 Barn Owls!! Again, our learning has continued at home and we’ve

been super busy! Here’s just a snippet of what we’ve been up to…

We’ve continued to share, read and listen to countless stories!! Lots of us have been immersed in audio books –

just look at how many Theo has listened too!!

We’ve continued to learn and

recognise many of the Year 2

spelling patterns. We’ve also

focused on homophones and

punctuation.

Learning at home with Year 2 Barn Owls

As well as reading and listening to stories, we have used

them as inspiration for our writing tasks. We’ve used the

book, The Secret Sky Garden to write a setting description.

We enjoyed a video based on George’s Marvellous Medicine

and wrote, described and created our own disgusting

medicine! We also listened to an extract from The Magic

Faraway Tree and drew pictures of what we thought the

characters might look like. We wrote a question we would

like to ask them.

We’ve continued our maths learning by trying different challenges throughout this week. We also took part in a

LIVE lesson to revise our fractions knowledge.
