About your Expert Trainer Faculty:

The Experienced Master of Dredging & Reclamation

He graduated with a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering and started his professional

career as a research engineer and production estimator with Costain

Blankevoort Dredging Company in 1978. During the late seventies and the early

eighties, he worked on many dredgers as a trouble-shooter, meanwhile

developing measurement systems for the automation of the data acquisition

process.

After being employed for a few years by an automation company, specialised in

the automation of dredging processes, he joined Boskalis in 1987. He started as

a research engineer. From the early nineties until 1998 he was a member of the

soils group of the estimating department, and therefore involved with all kinds

of dredging related geological and geotechnical problems. As a senior project

engineer for Hydronamic, the Boskalis in house engineering department he has

coordinated tenders and project designs. From 2003 until 2009 he managed all

technical and environmental work during the preparation and execution of the

Channel Deepening Project in Melbourne Australia. Then, he worked as

environmental manager on the Gorgon Barrow Island Project during the

preparation phase. After his return to the Netherlands, he has been working as

a senior engineer at the Boskalis head office in the Netherlands. From his

retirement in 2014, he has been involved in education such as dredging

simulator instructor and e-learning course development for the Dutch dredging

branch organisation.
