Since its inception in 2008, Multi Pump Innovation (MPI) has developed 16 different washing systems, both for manual washing and ROV style cleaning robots. In spite of only a few years in the business MPI as a company has already sold hundreds of systems with more than 90 million NOK in sales, and delivered equipment to a number of countries, including major farming area like Norway, Canada, Scotland and Chile.

Although the company was established at a time when the financial crisis devastated the economy MPI has concentrated on its target area, with innovative products that are well received by the aquaculture industry worldwide.

through further development of our washing systems, as the customer requirement for quality always increases. MPI aims to be the most innovative company in the cleaning of fish farms, says founder and CEO of MPI, Trond Sivertsen.

Trond Sivertsen has a background in the offshore industry, and it was through personal contacts in the industry that he was aware of the potential for improvement in the washing area of fish farming. It turned out there was a great need and demand for washing equipment with higher quality and functionality, therefore from the beginning MPI had a focus on innovative products with high quality.

We are committed to giving customers what they want and MPI customizes products according to customers’ needs. As most of our customers have purchased more than one system, we take it as a sign that our washing equipment is at a quality level that our customers expect, he said further.

Besides the manual washing units, the introduction of the revolutionary cleaning robot has contributed greatly to MPIs tremendous growth over the last year. Washing with the robot is fast and efficient, while it offers controlled washing of the nets the Robot can also be used for inspection by the use of video capture allowing it all to be documented and stored on an electronic storage devise.

Our cleaning Robot offers something completely new in the washing of fish farm nets, and the product has been very well received. We have over the past year sold more than 30 units, and keep getting new orders, from both Norwegian and foreign companies. Our cleaning Robot is clearly a product of the future, says Sivertsen.

The positive customer feedback and an ever-increasing demand of our products, makes MPI look positive towards the future. We look forward to continuing our development and delivering of cleaning equipment for the aquaculture industry worldwide. An investment in our products provides better growing conditions for fish, it is environmentally friendly (eliminating the need for treating nets with antifouling), which provides cleaner cages, and reduces cleaning time significantly.

We have washing rigs from three to 21 discs, so we have products that are suitable for both small and large farmers, and professional cleaning contractors, concludes Sivertsen.
