PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Bali Institute designs and runs 2-3 week programs that introduce high-school students

to what it means to be a global citizen and provide them the tools to become effective

leaders in their communities.

We carefully design our programs to include a balance of community service, leadership

development, and adventure to ensure that students return home with both new

tangible skills and memories to last a lifetime.

Bali is home to an extremely welcoming culture, providing a safe and nurturing setting

for students to explore a new country, develop confidence, and build leadership. Our

carefully selected staff, housing, and program logistics further ensure student safety

every step of the way.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS ➢ Volunteer in a local Balinese village

➢ Have dinner with a member of

Bali’s royal family

➢ Visit ancient temples and observe

traditional Balinese ceremonies and

processions

➢ Learn to SCUBA dive among

beautiful coral reefs

➢ Take a surf lesson on the famous

waves of South Bali

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Students complete a community service

project in a Balinese village, with local

partner organizations and program mentors

supporting their efforts along the way.

Projects have included teaching English to

local schoolchildren and volunteering

alongside health professionals at local

medical clinics.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Students also participate in leadership-

building activities and reflections to help

process what they are learning during the

program and what they will take away from

their experience in Bali.

ADVENTURE

Of course, no trip to Bali would be complete

without a bit of adventure. Programs include

activities like white-water rafting, surfing,

and SCUBA diving to ensure students get the

most out of their time in Bali.


SAMPLE PROGRAM ITINERARY

Days 1 – 4 : Diving In

The first days of our program focus on helping

participants to become grounded and

comfortable in Bali through fun cultural

immersion activities and exploration of the

surrounding villages. Students visit a Balinese

temple, try their hand at woodcarving, and

explore a bustling traditional morning market.

Days 5 – 10 : Leadership in Service

After gaining valuable insights about their new

Balinese community, students give back

through a service project in a Balinese village.

Throughout their time in service, students also

engage in group dialogues about leadership,

reflecting on their role as a leader during their

volunteer project.

Days 11 - 14 : Time to Explore

After a whirlwind community service

experience, it’s time to relax, unwind, and

enjoy the adventures waiting around every

corner in Bali. Students might try SCUBA

diving, white water rafting, or even surf

lessons on Bali’s famous waves. There will

also be time to relax and enjoy some beautiful

sunsets in the company of new friends.
