DESIGNED FOR IMPACT PARTICIPANTS Our original (and ever-evolving) Leadership Memphis program brings together the brightest local executives so they can learn more about themselves, each other and the greater community. This creates a powerful forum for networking, shared learning, and personal growth. The Executive Program does not teach participants to be leaders – it helps leaders learn about our community. After opening with an intensive three-day, two-night retreat (called Memphis 3-2-1), the following nine class days involve frank discussions about race relations, social issues and economic challenges that Memphis faces. We identify how community leaders can play a role in creating the change necessary to make Memphis a City of Choice. The program includes candid, sometimes tough, and always enlightening conversations with local movers and shakers, video-conferencing with national experts, and interactive class activities. There is also a service component involving local high school students. This program is ideally suited for experienced leaders who are ready to make a bigger difference in the community. Leadership Memphis brings together smart, cross sector leaders and creates a powerful forum for networking, collaboration and collective impact. Participants co-create the class experience by sharing their perspectives and knowledge, forging relationships with other leaders who care about the same things. WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY “Overall, I really enjoyed the program and it helped me gain an even greater appreciation for Memphis. I really enjoyed the opening advance and hope that it becomes standard. Having an opportunity to actually walk the city and learn about so many wonderful places and agencies that I might have only had a passing familiarity with was wonderful.” “The Executive Program is an experience that every citizen in Memphis should experience. You have also made this experience available to others through the Fast Track Program and Grassroots Program. Well done.” “This has been a Great Experience! It has made me a better leader and I am in love with Memphis!!” EXECUTIVE PROGRAM

DESCRIPTION

Our original (and ever-evolving) Leadership Memphis program brings together the brightest local executives so they can learn more about themselves, each other and the greater community. This creates a powerful forum for networking, learning, and doing in ways that maximize community impact. The Executive Program does not teach participants to be leaders – it helps leaders learn about our community. While always insightful for newcomers to the Memphis area, even natives and long-term Memphians are amazed at what they learn and re-learn about our community. Together we identify how community leaders can play a role in creating the change necessary to make Memphis a City of Choice. The program includes candid, sometimes tough, and always enlightening conversations with local movers and shakers, video-conferencing with national experts, and interactive class activities. There is also a service component helping local high school students increase post-secondary attainment and career awa

DESIGNED FOR IMPACT

PARTICIPANTS

Our original (and ever-evolving)

Leadership Memphis program brings

together the brightest local executives

so they can learn more about themselves,

each other and the greater community.

This creates a powerful forum for

networking, shared learning, and

personal growth.

The Executive Program does not teach

participants to be leaders – it helps leaders

learn about our community. After opening

with an intensive three-day, two-night

retreat (called Memphis 3-2-1), the

following nine class days involve frank

discussions about race relations, social

issues and economic challenges that

Memphis faces. We identify how community

leaders can play a role in creating the

change necessary to make Memphis a

City of Choice. The program includes

candid, sometimes tough, and always

enlightening conversations with local

movers and shakers, video-conferencing

with national experts, and interactive

class activities. There is also a service

component involving local high school

students.

This program is ideally suited for experienced

leaders who are ready to make a bigger

difference in the community. Leadership

Memphis brings together smart, cross

sector leaders and creates a powerful

forum for networking, collaboration and

collective impact. Participants co-create

the class experience by sharing their

perspectives and knowledge, forging

relationships with other leaders who

care about the same things.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY

“Overall, I really enjoyed the

program and it helped me gain

an even greater appreciation for

Memphis. I really enjoyed the

opening advance and hope that

it becomes standard. Having an

opportunity to actually walk the

city and learn about so many

wonderful places and agencies

that I might have only had a passing

familiarity with was wonderful.”

“The Executive Program is an

experience that every citizen in

Memphis should experience. You

have also made this experience

available to others through the

Fast Track Program and Grassroots

Program. Well done.”

“This has been a Great Experience!

It has made me a better leader

and I am in love with Memphis!!”

OUR MISSION: WE PREPARE AND MOBILIZE

LEADERS TO WORK TOGETHER FOR THE

GOOD OF THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.

Leadership Memphis is dedicated to

equipping individuals to have a positive,

practical impact in the community. In

every way possible.

Our programs literally bring people

together. Multiculturalism and inclusion

are not abstract theories to us – they are

foundational. Building on that foundation,

we add a balanced curriculum of community

education, experiential learning, leadership

training, collaborative exercises and hands-

on activities.

Leadership Memphis participants gain a

deeper understanding of the interconnected

issues facing our community. And in the

process, collectively and individually, they

become better connected, better prepared,

and more motivated to effect positive change.
