    MA in Leadership for Sustainability

    This programme explores theories and

    practices relating to leadership and change

    or sustainability. Its highly participative

    learning approach is based on action

    research. Signifcant elements o the degree

    are conducted through virtual learning.

    Participants develop their own practice

    throughout the programme.

    Designed or:People who recognise the need or attention toclimate change, sustainability, social justice andcorporate responsibility, and who are seeking totake leadership in relation to these issues.

    The MA in Leadership for Sustainability is for people whoare already convinced of the need to develop a more

    sustainable society, and are taking leadership of some kindto contribute to change. Some participants will already beworking in corporate responsibility and sustainability roles,and will use the programme to enhance their effectivenessin leading change. Other participants will want to developtheir careers in these directions.

    The MA will provide:

    Engagementinintellectualdebatesthatreectcoreissues and dilemmas

    Developmentofresearchskillsandunderstanding

    Engagementwithsystemicthinkingandissuesofpower, politics and diversity applied to change for

    sustainability

    Opportunitiestoexperimentwithleadershipforsustainability both through participation in theprogramme and in work and professional lives.

    Alearningcommunityofcolleagues

    Participative approaches based in critical inquiry and actionresearch underpin the programme. This learning modelprovidesaforumintowhichmulti-dimensionalexamplesrelating to issues of change for sustainability will beintroduced,tobeexploredindepth.Thesewillincludediscussions led by researchers from a range of disciplinesandcaseexamplesoforganisationalandsystemicissues.

    Sessions will provide both substantive material relating tosustainabilityandopportunitiestoexploreissuesofleadership and change. Participants engagement inlearning sets and in an online networked learningcommunity are key elements of the programme.
