    BiographyAlberto Benavides de la Quintana was born inLima on November 21, 1920; his parents wereAlberto Benavides Canseco (lawyer and ex-mayor of Lima) and Blanca Benavides de laQuintana. Both belonged to the middle class of

    the time.

    It is the fourth of six children, which are: JorgeBenavides de la Quintana, Rosario Benavides dela Quintana, Blanca Benavides de la Quintana,Teresa Benavides de la Quintana, Angelica

    Benavides de la Quintana and Ismael Benavidesde la Quintana.

    BiographyHis mother died in 1935 when Alberto Benavides de la Quintanawas only 15 years, so their education mainly depended on hisfather.

    He did his primary and secondary studies at the College of theImmaculate between 1927 and 1936, then in 1937 joined theOld School of Engineers of Peru, which today is known as theNational Engineering University.

    He graduated from the Mining Engineering career in 1941 with

    honors , in his biography Alberto Benavides de la Quintanaconsider the following A big step in his life.

    BiographyOnce finished his college career running for a scholarship thatwas offered by the Cerro de Pasco Corporation and access tostudy a Masters in Geology from prestigious Harvard University .

    He Back in 1945 and that same year, he married Elsa Ganoza dela Torre, niece of Victor Raul Haya de la Torre, a product of thatmarriage were born five children: Blanca, Alberto, Mercedes,Raul and Roque. Currently only Raul and Roque and working inthe mining group, others are engaged in other businesses.

    Because the company Cerro de Pasco Corporation had grantedthe scholarship, Alberto Benavides de la Quintana, after his

    return from studying the Masters in 1944, he worked asassistant Geology in that company until 1952.

    Between 1976 and 1991, was called to the General Manager ofBuenaventura and then serves as CEO of this prestigiouscompany, one of the few Peruvian mining companies listed onthe Stock Exchange of New York.
