What It Is NOT:IBL is not a program; so much as it is an "incubator" of ideas,

emerging partnerships, and pilot projects/programs addressing traditional challenges in unique and creative ways.

IBL is not a "mini LEAD"; rather an environment where new programs or initiatives are piloted to ensure their effectiveness and where new partnerships are allowed to grow and mature.

Leadership, Education and Development

• Recent Partners Include:

Collaborative Partnership with Inroads andA Better Chance. Focuson Black Youth Development

Localized Summer Business Academies Targeted for Urban "Under Performing Youth." {Morgan State, NCCU}

3-year Project for development of "At Risk" Minority Males.

Leadership, Education and Development

&The Process for Participating:• Recruit students, appoint school liaison to program• Host an orientation for students and their parents/guardians

prior to program kick-off• School Reps participate in a webinar to learn the e-Mentoring

program and decide the “form” for their schools• Students / Mentors “test” online• Kick-Off Meeting on December 8• Participate in session for students and tutors one week after

kickoff• Facilitate tutoring at your school and access to a computer for

students for weekly communication with their mentor.• Provide LEAD with progress reports after every marking period

throughout duration of the programLeadership, Education and Development
