(Mary) chooses Reliable Computer's vendor

Jack sabotaged Mary's time/research at board of directors meeting

QUESTION 1 HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN THE BOARD'S DECISION TO

PURCHASE THE SOFTWARE PACKAGE FROM STANDARD?

The board's decision to purchase the software package from Standard was not the best decision to do and this occurred because ;

• e.g : the board only listen to Jack's opinion just because he is the Facility Administrator of the company whilst Mary is only an Accounting Manager. Jack is practicing availability bias where he tend to base his judgements on information that is readily available to him.

1. They only listen to one side of

story.

• e.g : during the board directors' meeting, they excluded Mary's report. Instead of doing that they should considered report from other departments as well.

2. They did not do further

investigation/ inspection to the

vendors.

Besides Jack, Mary should also inform the other board

of directors about the possibility of negative

outcome if used Standard Software System.

Mary should stay firm in attending the next meeting with Jack so that she can explain and present it to the

board of director herself.

Mary should suggest to the board of

director in including the other department

manager in the meeting so that, they

could achieved a better decision.
