A leader is only a leader when he influences people to work on goals where not always worth pursuing for them before. A leader is somebody who in advance does not use his power to force his goals to be achieved. He has vision and the skill of convincing by which he is able to get his message understood at all levels of an organization. He is social, and he can inspire people.

The general leadership skills concerned with this all are:

. 1.Analytical capabilities

2.Convincing capabilities

3.Social and emotional capabilities

4.Enthusing/inspiring capabilities

There are lots of definitions and interpretations for the term LEADERSHIP. Leadership refers to an extremely wide range of roles that have profound influence on the world. The range is so wide, in fact, that sometimes the term leadership seems to include almost everyone. Indeed, some corporations have adopted the slogan: "Everyone is a leader."

A word which can refer to any person at any level of an organization, in any field, living or dead, who significantly influences others, for good or ill, is so broad as to be of questionable utility. Consequently, as the patriarch of modern leadership studies, James MacGregor Burns, observes: "Leadership is one of the most observed and least understood phenomena on earth". Another analyst in the field elaborates: "Leadership studies have suffered from a 'lack of a common language.'" Mullins says that “A relationship through which one person influences the behaviour or actions of other people”. ). Another popular definition by Johnson would be, “the process of influencing an organization or groups within an organization in its efforts towards achieving a goal”.

The concept of leadership has meaning only within certain specified boundaries. A president of a corporation, who has the status of a "leader" inside its boundaries, loses that standing when he crosses those boundaries.

At church or synagogue, he may just be another worshipper; or on the soccer field, just another member of the team. Leadership, in other words, is context-specific.

From this perspective, many different kinds of people, good and evil, loving and tyrannical, can be called a "leader" today. Undeniably, Mahatma Gandhi was a leader. Winston Churchill and Eleanor Roosevelt were leaders. But Hitler was also a leader. So was Stalin. And we certainly have to call Osama bin Laden, Slobodan Milosevic, and Kim Jong Il leaders as well.

It is not only common but also inevitable, then, that leaders come into conflict. Because they lead in the interest of the part they represent, they will eventually encounter other leaders who are defending the interests of their part of the whole.

Today in our society, the word leadership is on every lip. Finding leaders has become one of the highest priorities in large and small organizations, from the community scout group to the top of any Fortune 500 companies. But how to define leadership and what should we be looking for in a leader? In all times, people needed guidance, purpose and motivation. Wars needed to be fought, obstacles needed to be overcome and life had to be protected and perpetuated. Naturally, someone stood up and people followed them. Leadership exists in that moment. Because a need was created, one or more persons recognized the opportunity and decided to act on it while people chose to follow them (Frankel, 2008). This brings out the question: “Is someone born a leader or does one work to acquire leadership qualities?” Authors in the literature seem to agree that genetics play a very little role in leadership if not at all. To cite a few, Frankel (2008) speaks of it as a journey in which the man   “becomes a leader, rather than existing as one in final form.” So if we want to be a great leader of the world we will try heart & soul.
