Hymn: VU 232
Joyful, Joyful We Adore You
Dedicated in memory of
Bill Magee
by His Family
Joyful, Joyful We Adore You
Joyful, joyful, we adore you,
God of glory, life and of love;
Hearts unfold like flow'rs before you,
Opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness,
Drive the gloom of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness,
Fill us with the light of day.
All yours works with joy surround you,
Earth and heav'n reflect your rays,
Stars and angels sing around you,
Center of unbroken praise.
Field and forest, vale and mountain,
Flow'ry meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain,
Sound their praise eternally.
You are giving and forgiving,
Ever blessing, ever blest,
Wellspring of the joy of living,
Ocean depth of happy rest!
Source of grace and fount of blessing,
Let your light upon us shine;
Teach us how to love each other,
Lift us to the joy divine.
Mortals, join the mighty chorus
Which the morning stars began;
God’s own love is reigning o'er us,
Joining people hand in hand.
Ever singing, march we onward
Victors in the midst of strife;
Joyful music leads us sunward
In the triumph song of life.
Leader: Sometimes the scripture is exactly
what I need to hear.
People: Sometimes the sermon feels like it
has been written just for me.
Leader: Sometimes only the prayers
break into my heart.
People: And sometimes, perhaps most of
the time, it’s the music that
lifts my spirit and inspires me.
Leader: Let’s worship God in word,
prayer, and song!
Over My Head
Over my head, I hear music in the air.
Over my head, I hear music in the air.
Over my head, I hear music in the air.
There must be a God somewhere.
All: God of Song and Silence, generations
of your people have chosen to honour you
with music. With voice and instrument, we
have sung your praise and celebrated your
presence in our midst.
Bless us today as we continue this tradition
and sing the songs of our faith, the songs
of our heart, the songs of our church.
Amen.
Over My Head
Over my head, I hear music in the air.
Over my head, I hear music in the air.
Over my head, I hear music in the air.
There must be a God somewhere.
Hymn: When Mothers of Salem
Dedicated in memory of
Lucille Pearn
by Howard & Ruth Pearn
When mothers of Salem
their children bring to Jesus,
The stern disciples drove them back
and bade them depart;
But Jesus saw them ere they fled,
and sweetly smiled, and kindly said,
“Suffer little children to come unto Me.”
For I will receive them
and fold them to My bosom:
I’ll be a shepherd to these lambs,
O drive them not away;
For if their hearts to Me they give,
they shall with Me in glory live:
Suffer little children to come unto Me.
How kind was our Savior
to bid these children welcome!
But there are many thousands
who have never heard His name;
The Bible they have never read,
they know not that the Saviour said,
Suffer little children to come unto Me.
O soon may the heathen
of every tribe and nation
Fulfill Thy blessèd Word
and cast their idols all away!
O shine upon them from above
and show Thyself a God of love,
Teach the little children to come unto Thee!
Growing our Faith
Happy Birthday to you.
To Jesus be true,
May God's riches blessings.
Be always with you

Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying
Dedicated in memory of
Brenda Simpson Smith, Carl Simpson,
Maxwell Pearn, Richard Trynor and
Howard Trynor
by Ruth & Howard Pearn
Lord, Listen to Your
Children Praying
Lord, listen to your children praying,
Lord, send your Spirit in this place;
Lord, listen to your children praying,
Send us love, send us power,
send us grace!
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory
for ever and ever. Amen.
Walk with me,
I will walk with you
And build the land
That God has planned
Where love shines through.

As the Deer Pants for the Water
Dedicated in memory of Ross Ellis
by Mary Ellis
As the deer pants for the water,
So my soul longs after You.
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You.
You alone are my strength, my shield,
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You.
Day and night I cry, my heart is breaking,
Tears my only food;
While my enemies jeer and taunt me,
Saying “Where is now your God?”
You alone are my strength, my shield,
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You.
Why am I so sad, so troubled,
Why must suffering be so long?
I will hope in you, my God and Saviour,
Praise you with a song!
You alone are my strength, my shield,
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my heart’s desire
And I long to worship You.

Come, Let Us Sing of a Wonderful
Love
Dedicated in memory of
my Mum and Dad, Bob & Betty Harrison,
and my sister, Cheryl
by Bobbie Emerson
Come, Let Us Sing of a Wonderful Love
Come, let us sing of a wonderful love,
Tender and true, tender and true,
Out of the heart of the Father above,
Streaming to me and to you:
Wonderful love, wonderful love
Dwells in the heart of the Father above.
Jesus the Saviour this gospel to tell
Joyfully came, joyfully came,
Came with the helpless and hopeful to dwell,
Sharing their sorrow and shame,
Seeking the lost, seeking the lost,
Saving, redeeming at measureless cost.
Jesus is seeking the wanderers yet;
Why do they roam? Why do they roam?
Love only waits to forgive and forget;
Home, weary wanderers, home!
Wonderful love, wonderful love
Dwells in the heart of the Father above.
Come to my heart, O thou wonderful love!
Come and abide, come and abide,
Lifting my life till it rises above
Envy and falsehood and pride:
Seeking to be, seeking to be
Lowly and humble, a learner of thee.

Hymn: Because He Lives
Dedicated in memory of
Our Parents
by Carol & Bill Johnson
Because He Lives
God sent His Son they called Him Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove
my Saviour lives.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow;
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives!
How sweet to hold a new-born baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days
Because He lives.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow;
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives!
And then one day I’ll cross the river;
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory
And I’ll know He lives.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow;
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living
Just because He lives!

How Firm a Foundation
Dedicated in memory of
Curtis Simpson
by Ruth & Howard Pearn
How Firm a Foundation
How firm a foundation, you servants of God
Is laid for your faith in God’s excellent word!
What more can be said
than to you has been said,
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
“Fear not, I am with you; O be not dismayed!
For I am your God and will still give you aid;
I’ll strengthen and help you,
and cause you to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
3 How Firm a Foundation CP527When through the deep waters I call you to go,
The rivers of sorrow shall not overflow;
For I will be with you, your troubles to bless,
And sanctify to you your deepest distress.
4 How Firm a Foundation CP527When through fiery trials
your pathway shall lie,
My grace, all-sufficient, shall be your supply:
The flame shall not hurt you; I only design
Your dross to consume,
and your gold to refine.
5 How Firm a Foundation CP527The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose
I will not – I will not desert to its foes;
That soul, though all hell should
endeavour to shake,
I’ll never – no, never – no, never forsake!”
O Let the Son of God Enfold You
O let the Son of God enfold you
With His Spirit and His love,
Let Him fill your heart
and satisfy your soul.
O let Him have the things
that hold you,
And His Spirit like a dove,
Will descend upon your life
And make you whole.
