IDS GROUP 13GO GREEN RESORT @ UBIN

GG Resort @ Pulau Ubin•We plan to build our green resort at the Noordin beach of Pulau Ubin.

Our Green Resort! Our resort will

be:• 100m from

Noordin Beach

• At least 200m away from NPCC Campsite

• Around 1.5km from the jetty

Features of our wonderful resort•Flora and fauna of Noordin Beach•Enjoy the land breeze at night and the sea breeze in the day ALWAYS cooling !•Watch the sunset and sunrise Wonderful sight!•Sandy beach for engaging volleyball match•Potted plants and trees to provide shade COOLING again !•Energy-saving light bulbs and fan using FREE electricity Cool eh?•Cozy bathroom with “Solar powered heater” Keeps you warm from our cool air :D

Our Resort will look like this…• REFER TO VISUALISER

Coastal Management•Problem faced : soil erosion.•Beach Nourishment•Cost-effective•Sustainable•Use medium-grained sand from Mamam Beach•Building of tidal barrages to control the flow of waves hitting the beach

How our structure would be built?• A certain area of forests will have to be cleared for space to build the resort.• The wood from clearing the forests will be used for building huts through the resort.• The rest of the resort will have to be built using concrete as wood under the humidity of the island will rot. •Wood will also be prone to termite attacks• Thus, wood will have to be frequently replaced.• However, concrete absorbs a lot of heat but we feel that this will be solved by the sea breeze.

Energy Supply• Noordin Beach receives abundant amount of sunlight.• Abundant amount of sunlight will ensure more efficient generation of electricity from solar energy.• Hence, we plan to build solar panels on the roof of our “Green Resort”.• Solar energy is a green source of energy.• Although it is quite expensive, it is very cost-efficient because after the solar panels are build, the electricity generated will be free, so it is a kind of investment.• Also, one of the toilets already has it,

so it is possible.

Energy Supply• At the Noordin beach, the waves are destructive at an average frequency of 20.• Hence we plan to build a tidal barrage at the sea to generate electricity to run our “Green Resort”.• Tidal energy is renewable and reliable and does not produce any waste so it is very appropriate for our resort.• The tidal barrage also acts as a form of coastal protection to protect the beach from being eroded.

Yet ANOTHER FREE source of energy•Gym will be provided for workouts.•Workout stations such as the Bicycle and the running track will have a generator attached to it.•As gymnasts exercise, electricity is also generated.• It acts as a tourists attraction.

Generating electricity with MAGNETS !• Repulsion of the magnets causes the magnets to spin forever.• This can be a power source for every individual unit in the resort.• This can be used to power the Energy-saving light bulbs and the fan.

What the trail looks like…

Trails and Transport (T&T)

•All new experience transport SOLAR POWER SCOOTER ! YEA !

•Travel to a faraway place at NIGHT with our SCOOTER•Travel to a nearby place with your LEGS/Bicycle.•Durian plantation ( Watch your head ! ) and rambutan plantations Yum Yum•Enjoy seafood so salty tasty, you can never find in Singapore !

So why us and not the MaMa resort ( Sihao’s group)?

• Firstly, Mamam when spelt backwards is still Mamam. (No creativity )• Trails:• Nature trail Close encounter with cute monitor lizards and dangerous friendly wild boars.• Unique point of our trail:• Our professional and enthusiastic student-geologists got lost and have found a place with scenic view ! The place is near our resort.• Thus, our nature trail will include this location.• HOWEVER, getting there is not an easy task as the path is laden with muddy pathways and small ‘rivers’.

REWARDS !! YAY !! :D
