Background

LeadChange Developments currently registered as a non-profit company, in the process

of registering as a non-profit organization is embarking on a program that seeks to

empower individuals living with a disability with professional IT skills at no cost to the

beneficiary. Its main objective is to create various opportunities for the benefit of the

underprivileged.

LeadChange Developments was founded by Senzo Knowledge Mbonambi (Blind),

Nosipho Takayi (Scoliosis) and Shaun Thamsanqa Soko. The main objective is to create

various opportunities for the benefit of the underprivileged with its primary focus on people

living with disabilities.

LeadChange Developments seeks to address the challenge described above by offering

international recognised Microsoft IT qualifications as its primary service and these

include;

The Members of the company even before LeadChange Developments had been

registered had at one stage (Aug 2014 – Feb 2015) provided Microsoft Digital Literacy

training to a group of 23 students who were residents of Snake Park – Soweto. The

programme was not completed due to the legal processes of registration that took so long

therefore delaying the application procedures for funds and acquiring of permanent

premises of operation.

Secondary Objectives

1. Awareness

o Having a disability is not a choice but educating the community is a choice.

The project will not be successful if the community is not made aware of

disabilities

2. Counselling

o Counselling is therapeutic to every individual but for an individual who has

recently discovered that they are unable to perform certain tasks, will be like

giving them a second chance to a life full of possibilities.

3. Sport Development

o Various sporting activities that cater for types of disabilities will be

implemented, competitively participating in provincial and national levels.

4. Employment

o The organisation in itself has several objectives that have to be fulfilled.

Each objective attracts a skilled personnel. The organisation will train and

hire students within itself.

o Companies can approach us when a Position needs to be filled. We will

source and train an individual for the specific position.

o We will supply skilled personnel on probation at no risk to the sponsor.

o Hand craft skills will be offered to students and these include;

6. Healthy lifestyle

o Having a disability can be very depressing, resulting in an individual’s

lifestyle being affected. We believe that for a nation to be healthy the people

have to be healthy. Healthy minds in healthy bodies.

Current Status

Students

LeadChange Developments has 20 students living with different types of disabilities which

include Cerebral Palsy, Blind, Partial Sighted, Epilepsy, Osteogenesis Impefecta, etc.

These students reside in the areas Braamfischerville, Dobsonville, Snake Park and

Mofolo in Soweto.

LeadChange Developments has 20 Pentium 4 computers which it intends to use for its

first class beginning 4 January 2016.
