LEAD SHEETING 17 th – 21st September 105 Boundary Street, Liverpool, L5 9YJ A five-day event at DBH offices located in the Liverpool film studios, a regeneration business centre renting out office spaces and units after the capital of culture in 2008. There will be contributions from other businesses located in the office space, artists and the public as set of discussions, films and pop-up shows. Points to be raised in the space: To explore how landscape can be given a contemporary relevance in painting with a shared interest in our practices Working in an environment and context away from building, making and designing for a specific show Focusing on how paining can be re-presented/re-generated through archiving in photography, film and its distribution (display) The flipside between inspiration from views and vistas and looking at your internal surrounds and just dealing with what you’ve got. Responding to what DBH have set up for ‘non-artists’ (i.e. office uses) What happens when you’ve exhausted the ‘ready-made’ gallery spaces in Liverpool? What’s left for new contexts? Initiated by Rose Parish and Hamish McLain, who will be working in the space throughout the week, alongside invited guests, discussions and evening film screenings. We will be mapping our findings throughout the week, with the final outcome viewable on Friday 21 st September at 6pm. Viewings by appointment only, as there are only so many people that can fit in the cage. Send us a text on 07766912040 (Hamish) or 07754349141 (Rose) To follow the development of the project and track our ideas, please visit our blog at: http://www.leadsheeting.blogspot.co.uk/
