OUR BENEFIC IARY: SAMMY’S HOUSERECA’s 2016 Christmas in October Committee chose to partner with Sammy’s House, a nonprofit organiza-tion that provides services for children who are med-ically fragile or developmentally delayed. The Christ-mas in October Committee will re-design and renovate interior living and exterior living and play spaces at Sammy’s House. RECA’s hope is that these improve-ments, with your help, will create a safe and healthy living environment for the children to spend quality time with their family and friends. With monetary gifts, and donations of materials, design and labor, we can transform the facilities at Sammy’s House into a more inviting, healing and functional space the children at Sammy’s House can enjoy.

GET INVOLVED: BUILD HOPEChristmas in October’s success depends on the committee’s work, financial contri-butions and community support. There are multiple ways to get involved:

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER I 10.22.16 BENEFITTING SAMMY’S HOUSE

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER: 25 YEARS OF GIV ING

RECA’S 2016 LDC CLASS

The Real Estate Council of Austin’s Annual ‘Christmas in October’ originated in 1991. It was modeled after a national program, Christmas in April, to ‘build a better community one house at a time’. Each year, RECA appoints two co-chairs of the Christmas in October Committee to lead a team and work with RECA’s Leader-ship Development Council (LDC) to select a deserving Austin area non-profit. The team then develops a community project and fundraising program to successfully execute the project. This year, RECA is celebrating its 25th year giving back to the community through Christmas in October. Thank you to the 2016 Christmas in October Committee co-chairs, Chico Parker of Sayers Real Estate Advisors and Nate Gitlin of Texas Ecogrow.

RECA is committed to cultivating future leaders in order to ensure that the organi-zation will continue to be led by a diverse group of real estate professionals with extensive knowledge of Austin, the surrounding communities, and the real estate issues facing these areas. LDC is a one-year leadership development program, and its mission is to educate and develop leadership talent within the community of young professional RECA members. Meet the 2016 LDC Class:

THE REAL ESTATE COUNCIL OF AUSTIN (RECA)Established in 1991, the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA) is a dynamic 501(c)(6) non-profit organization of more than 1,900 commercial real estate professionals representing the top leaders in the Central Texas business community.
