THE LEVANTINE CERAMICS PROJECT 2020 WORKSHOP 2: Wares & Ware Families of the Early Bronze Age AIAR, Jerusalem May 6, 2020 The Levantine Ceramics Project and the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research invite your participation in a workshop devoted to the ceramic landscape of the Early Bronze Age in the southern Levant, to be held Wednesday, May 6th, 2020. Our goal is to expand the LCP’s dataset of EBA pottery with examples of specific vessels, petrographic analyses, drawings, and photographs. Presentations at the workshop will be based on data submitted to the LCP in advance. You may submit individual vessels, ceramic wares/ware families, kiln/workshop sites, and/or petrographic analyses. You may submit as much information as you like, and you may give more than one presentation in the workshop. We ask that you submit all data by April 1, 2020. We will organize the program based on data submitted to the LCP by that date. The LCP is a collaborative venture of archaeologists who work on pottery dating from Neolithic through Ottoman times throughout the Levant. It is open access; anybody may consult the information on the site. Contributors may submit data that is already published or newly discovered, may specify levels of privacy from completely private to fully public, and may edit their own submitted information at any time. Note that a scholarly citation can be generated for each page on the LCP, making all entries digital publications, e.g. Ben-Shlomo, David; Dessel, J.P.; Uziel, Joe; Early Bronze Shephelah Calcite-tempered ware, The Levantine Ceramics Project, accessed on 24 November 2019, https://www.levantineceramics.org/wares/142-early-bronze-shephelah-calcite-tempered-ware. Please RSVP to Aaron Greener at [email protected]. We look forward to welcoming you to the Albright next May – and, with your help, to extending the LCP’s storehouse of information on Levantine ceramics into the Early Bronze Age. Best wishes, J. P.
