SHARED VISION
● The College President requested Teacher Education to write our vision for new facilities.
A SHARED VISION
Creating a Shared Vision:
● A review was done of the children’s center/lab school vision and mission.
● Small focus groups developed a shared vision of an interdisciplinary national model for this new facility.
L
A Vision Board was created.
Funding Strategies● LCCC Executive Team presented the vision to one local
philanthropist, Linny Fowler.
● Once this major funding was secured, LCCC added the new potential Fowler Center as a choice for the LCCC Foundation annual fund drive.
L
─ LCCC College Foundation sold bricks for entry walkway.
─ Local corporations were asked to sponsor specific rooms or equipment
– Strong entrepreneurial spirit leads this faculty team.– State ECE Quality Improvement funds, Keystone
STARS for the child care center used to purchase new equipment.
– Teacher Education Student Association raised funds.– Teacher Education faculty and center staff presented
all-day conference, all proceeds went to new facility.– Special request for college chairs went out to four-year
institution partners.
