1 Introduction

This document specifies the usage of LC29D EVB which is an assistant tool for engineers to develop and

test Quectel LC29D module.

1.1. Safety Information

The following safety precautions must be observed during all phases of operation, such as usage, service

or repair of any terminal incorporating Quectel LC29D module. Manufacturers of the terminal should notify

users and operating personnel of the following safety information by incorporating these guidelines into all

manuals supplied with the product. If not so, Quectel assumes no liability for customers’ failure to comply

with these precautions.

Ensure that the use of the product meets the national safety and environmental

regulations, and is allowed in the country and in the environment required.

Keep away from explosive and flammable materials. The use of electronic products

in extreme power supply conditions and locations with potentially explosive

atmospheres may cause fire and explosion hazards.

The product has to be powered by a stabilized voltage source, and the wiring shall

conform to security and fire prevention regulations.

Proper ESD handling procedures must be applied throughout the mounting,

handling and operation of any application that incorporates the module to avoid

ESD damages.

5.2. Steps to use RTK

The detailed steps are as follows.

Step 1: Insert (U)SIM card and connect 4G, GNSS antenna.

Step 2: Connect the EG25 USB connector to the computer and power on the EVB.

Step 3: Configure your RTK account.

Step 4: Restart the EVB after the RTK account is configured successfully.

Step 5: Connect Standard COM Port after restart, baud rate is 460800bps.

Step 6: Need to be in an open-sky environment to get into the RTK.

Step 7: When $PQTMINS the second parameter of becomes 3 or 4, enter RTK successfully.

6 Module Calibration

In order to utilize Dead Reckoning (DR) capabilities of LC29D, a valid module calibration is essential.

This chapter introduces the calibration of LC29D module.

6.1. EVB placement

The EVB should be placed as illustrated in the following figure and no movement should happen, otherwise

the calibration may fail. The white arrow is the forward direction of the vehicle and the EVB should be

placed horizontally.

Forward Direction

6.2. Calibration procedure

The calibration procedure is as follows:

Step 1: Install the EVB on a vehicle.

Step 2: Switch S203 to DL and power on the EVB.

Step 3: Send the following commands to LC29D module through Enhanced COM Port.

1. Clear calibration data: $PQTMRESETINSCFG*5B

2. Configure DR calibration mode: $PQTMSETINSPROFILE,2,1,1*5B

Step 4: Switch S203 to RTK and start the vehicle.

Step 5: Keep the vehicle unmoved for at least 30 seconds on a flat road (1°~2° tolerance in gravity

direction).

Step 6: Speed at least 5m/s, open ground 1 minute.

Step 7: When $PQTMINS the second parameter of becomes 2 or 4, the calibration is successful.

Example:

$PQTMINS,680013,4,31.821291735,117.116094469,63.424977,-1.261245,0.036807,-
