WE LOVE TO SERVE

our Members, it is the

cornerstone of our Club

mission. But we highly

regard those that have

served, are serving and

whose goal it is to serve

our country. So many

of our Members have served in the armed

forces in various conflicts worldwide to

protect our freedom and we want to salute

them and their service.

We proudly fly our flags on Memorial Day

and celebrate our Independence on the 4th of

July with exuberance! Please join us on

Patriots Day, August 31 - September 2 as we

also support Folds of Honor, an organization

that provides scholarships to the families of

military veterans disabled or killed in action.

Read more about it on page 9.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We want to pay special tribute to those

Members who have recently passed, many

having served our country in World War II,

the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

growth, root structure, and

top playing conditions for

you and your guests, the

maintenance staff is aggressively applying

the horticultural practices necessary for

maintaining healthy and mature growth

year-round. The practices completed

during the summer months include:

Aerifying Fairways: Aerifying loosens

the soil that has become compacted by

carts, equipment, and foot traffic,

opening up growing room for the roots

and increasing oxygen to the roots. This

helps water infiltration and makes the

fairways firmer.

Aerifying Greens: Aerifying promotes

healthy turf growth. A machine, known

as an Aerifier, removes 3- to 5-inch long

cores of turf and soil. The removal of

cores allows water, air and nutrients

from the topdressing to reach the soil

roots, thereby enhancing growth.

Top-dressing Greens:

• Promotes Tighter, Finer-Textured Turf

• Encourages Upright Growth

• Thatch Control

• Disease Prevention

• Better Water & Fertilizer Infiltration

• Alleviates Compaction

• Protects Against Winter Kill

Verticutting Tees & Fairways:

Verticutting helps to reduce thatch

build-up and allows moisture and

oxygen into the root system. Thatch

restricts movement of air, water and

fertilizers into the soil.

Golf Equipment CheckOUR BAGGAGE STAFF TAKES GREAT

care to wipe down and clean your clubs before

storing, but golfers also need to pay attention

to the condition of their equipment. On a

yearly basis:

■ Grips on all clubs, especially wedges and

putters, should be replaced one or two times

per year depending on use. Worn or slick

grips can effect club face control causing

errant shots. The golf shop can replace your

grips typically within 48 hours.

■ Wedges should be checked once a year

for groove wear. Players hit with these clubs

the most, wearing out the grooves faster

which affects how the ball flies, rolls and

stops. Golf shop staff can assist by checking

your wedges and making suggestions for

new wedges, if needed.

■ Players taking lessons and working on

their game should schedule a club fitting each

year. This ensures that the clubs still fit their

swing or will show if adjustments need to be

made. Look for announcements from the

Golf Shop regarding upcoming club fittings

with our Trackman technology.

■ Players with forged golf clubs should

have their lie angles checked each year.

Forged clubs are made from a softer metal

and can bend due to temperature changes

and constant use. Changes can be made, if

necessary, in just a few days.

■ Drivers and fairway woods should be

upgraded every two to three years to take

advantage of the newest technology. Irons

are more durable and should be upgraded

every three to five years. CRCC hosts

quality club fittings with manufacturers like

TaylorMade, PXG and PING during the

season and is a great time to test equipment

before purchasing.

Our pros are knowledgeable and trained

to assist you in maintaining your equipment

properly. Visit the Golf Shop and, while you

are there, check out our new Fitting Center!

Tips for Tennis GearT E N N I S R AC K E T S S H O U L D N E V E R

be kept in the trunk or the back seat of your

car! Why? The extreme heat results in

tension loss in the strings and deterioration

of the grips. Rackets should always be stored

in a climate controlled environment.

Rackets should have strings and grips

changed on a regular basis depending on the

frequency of play and the level of the player.

The Tennis Shop keeps a record of every

racket strung which includes the type of

string, the gauge, the tension, and the date

strung. Check with us to see if your strings

could be past due!

The Tennis Shop stocks the top four

brands of tennis rackets: Babolat, HEAD,

Volkl, and Wilson. Each brand includes

several different models and we stock demos

in each. There is no such thing as “the best

racket.” Racket choices depend on the

players’ level of play and swing speed. Our

staff are available to help Members choose

the correct racket with the correct grip size

and proper string and tension for them. We

also guarantee the BEST PRICE by

matching all of our local competitors.

Knowing you’ve got the best equipment,

suited best for you and in the best condi-

tion, can give you more confidence than

anything else!

Club Event Reservation Policy

Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and requirethe purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations(including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause theClub to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement ofthe special event and holiday dining policy.

• At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price.

• Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them.

• You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged.

• If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price.

Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will becredited in full.
