Our customerA leading provider of housekeeping products in UK, who provides over 5,000 quality Cateing Disposables, Cleaning Supplies and Equiment from their warehouse based in London to cover all cleaning applications.

ChallengesOur customer started their brick and mortar stores 5 years ago. They realized the potential of Internet of Things (IoT) and they wanted to create a B2B shopping website which had lots of hope to increase their revenue. Customer preferred this system to be implemented on top of their 3rd party centralized inventory system. They started the vendor evaluation process with the following challenges in their mind.

1)Due to the complex work f low nature of housekeeping ecosystem, they preferred the development partner with the prior domain knowledge

2)Online portal should be robust and scalable

3)All the distributors and customers control should be maintained from their centralized system

4)Prior experience in working with aggressive deadlines (go live in 2 months)

Since ExpedUx had the prior domain experi-ence especially in developing multiple house-hold e-commerce platforms, our customer chose to go with us and offered the develop-ment of their e-commerce platform

ChallengesExpedUx started the project scope phase and understood the two important challenges in the overall project perspective.

1) Backend system should be maintained either through the website or centralized system

2) All the transactions should be maintained separately and each dealer had dif ferent commission percentages. These transactions should be synchronized from both the end.

After evaluating the entire scope of the e-commerce platform, ExpedUx recommended 2 phased approach for the overall development to go-live.

Phase 1: ● Implemented agile development model for entire project with the best practices like Continuous Integration and Behavior Driven Development concepts

● Validated all the possible technologies and frameworks and decided to go with PHP as a core technology and Magento as the best suited framework

● Reused the components as much as possible from the ExpedUx’s Retail Factory which reduced the cost and time of ef fort by 45%.

Phase 2: ● Customized the Magento with the ex-pected changes along with synchronization scripts.

● Integrated their eCommerce platform with eBay Marketplaces

● Enabled scalability and security from the technology stand point so that the cus-tomer could manage inventory as demand
