A Glimpse

Our nation India, indeed the whole world is passing through the era of chaos. Commercialization of commodities and services as well as Increase in pollution level took shape faster than the flood water spread. The output, we received is awful. Poor people have taken shape of hungry indirect tax payers. While on the one hand countless no of people died of hunger, anxiety to somehow feed their children, they also have borne the attacks of pollution born diseases without any commercial return by rich, becoming richer day by day through their luxurious fossil fuel SUVs.

Swift increase in the rate of unemployment, commodity and service prices, non- cooperative attitude of banking and financial institutions towards poor mass and centralization of resources in over populated, highly mechanized and polluted metropolis have converted small entrepreneurs in to labourers, labourers in to ailing unemployed and unemployed in to criminals. This change is neither positive, nor sustainable, therefore, we the co-workers of team FoRPI *Federation of Rickshaw Pullers of India*, which intends to serve not only a segment of approximately 25 million Indian labour entrepreneur *cycle rickshaw pullers* through our researches and technical inputs, but desire to assist existing labourers other than unemployed enterprising youth of whole world with the vision of establishing renewable energy based short distance haulage system and converting these labourers in to the trained and accountable service providers.

The launch of ‘SAUR-HANS’, Solar Energy Based Electric Rickshaw Cab on 20th August 2012 on the occasion of ‘Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas’ is not the beginning of this movement, but certainly the beginning of non-toxic short distance transportation mechanism … a historic step towards a hale and hearty travel mechanism.This complete effort has been subsidized by the member organizations and trade unions of FoRPI. Small contributions have helped us to showcase the strength of cooperative effort once again, while moral support of Eminent Scientist, Educationalist and Social Reformer Prof Yashpal, Joint Director of DRDO Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Executive Director of SAERA Electric Auto Private Ltd Mr. Vijay Kapoor, Inventor of Tire Gel Mr. Pradeep Kumar Soni and other eminent personalities from social and scientific background on the occasion of launch have encouraged us to carry on this movement.

Professor Yashpal in his Chair’s words said that Team FoRPI seems a squad of crazy people like himself, and crazy people can change the world in to a better habitat. He also Stated that only its presence in distant rural habitats shall make him happy. Mr. Vijay Kapoor, Executive Director, SAERA E A Pvt Ltd appealed from Nationalized Banks to come forward for assisting these service providers for purchase of their own rickshaws. Evident is that his company has already assisted these rickshaw pullers with micro financing along with federation. Also noticeable is that, the haulers, who are carrying these rickshaws, are masters of the same, because, this movement also envisages converting these haulers in to the masters of rickshaws in the course of converting them in to Entrepreneur Labour Service Providers and assisting government on top of society to find a self-employed sector, to move in bona fide way towards Sustainable Development through Sustainable Livelihood.

Federation of Rickshaw Pullers of India fondly known as FoRPI is a movement, set in action by the like minded trade unions, social and cooperative organizations to lend a hand to decision-makers and civic structure to carry on concern of a sustainable future by absorption of innovations and the systematic spread, taking place right the way through the sphere in the walk of renew able force carted short expanse haulage and shelter something like twenty million drudges and their kin’s living.
