LAugmented is an application to help anyone explore the City of Los Angeles. Combining video, audio, photography, music and film clips to create the ultimate discover tool for Los Angeles.

Our team goal was to create application for a large age range from 12-50 years old and for locals and visitors alike.

We all have experienced audio tours at museums and area of insterest in particular cities but LAugmented allows the user to choose what information they would like to know. In discovering this information LAugmented presents all information in multiple media forms including: text, photographs, video, audio and music. Instead of searching for information on where you are at a certain moment start up LAug-mented Point your Smartphone in any direction and it will do the searching for you. Not only can you search by where you are standing, but those areas surrounding you, even if far off in the distance. Our unique Radial Map View enable the user to have a 360 view of where they are or would like to go.

Smarter Than a Local. Discover LA.

LAugmented has two modes which were conceived with the idea of macro and micro in mind. The macro mode is City Exploration.

City Exploration presents a map view of Los Angeles, which is divided into Los Angeles Re-gions. For example West Hollywood is a region. Each region such as West Hollywood will be a button that you can tap which will zoom the user into a more detailed map. Waypoints, flagged points of interest, will appear for this area. Each WayPoint is color coated according to how long it will take the user to get there. This feature takes into account mileage, time of day and day of the week therefore optimizing the users LA experience.

Local Exploration presents a map that allows the users to view the area on a street level view. Points of Interest are on a micro level that can be enhanced even farther constantly in a transi-tion from macro to micro. This view will allow the user to choose which media formats they would like to view whether text or just audio media. This media is overlayed on the smartphone image in livefeed.

Display Toolsradial map shows you a 360 ariel view map of where you are and features way points that tag where points of interest are located. Then you can use it to zoom in on certain areas or specific places.

    SherryAge: 35Hometown: MiamiVisitor

Sherry is currently visiting Los Angeles with her two girlfriends from MIami. As usual Sherry and her friends want to see the typical “tourists” sites but wants to explore the city as if she were a local. In order to explore the city like a local Sherry used LAugmented. The City Exploration view allowed them to learn the expansiveness of the city and where things were located relative to their locations. And as they planned their week in Los Angeles LAugment-ed guided them on what day of the week to visit museums, what time of day and the fastest route. Sherry and her friends enjoyed discovering a little about the history of the city as well as they did in Venice. They were able to listen to music associated with the area, view both video and photographs of the area from the past and from films.
