Government does not recognise cannabis in its raw form to have any medicinal purposes; it is a harmful drug.’ They claim to have come to this opinion following the ‘best available evidence’ and the advice of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (under new management - does not contain Nutts). The referral to cannabis in its ‘raw form’ is also a business friendly nod to pharmaceutical companies looking to turn stone high into high profit.Verdict: The economic potential of canna-business suits the monetary ambitions of the party, but right now the Tories appear to favor corporate pharmaceuticals over high street retail or the freedom to farm. If these guys come to power again, expect to see corporate cannabis take off alongside the continued criminalization of small time growers and users.

David Cameron, Conservative

UK Independence PartyLast year Nigel Farage gave an interview where he said that he hated drugs, he had never taken them and that he hoped he never would take them. Even so, he claimed that the war on drugs, was lost a long time ago and has created a huge criminality in the drugs trade. He believed that the criminalization of drugs was ‘not helping British society’. Despite having a political career based upon opposition to anything originating outside of the British Isles, Farage suggested he wanted to follow the drugs policies of Europeans, like Portugal and Switzerland, because they are ‘more enlightened’. The UKippers are, nevertheless, a capricious bunch, ever mindful to go with the mob of daily news. Head Office wrote to us saying that they understood that the UKIP Drug Policy would ‘certainly not legalize cannabis’. They sent us a draft 2015 manifesto. No drugs policy in there but there was stuff on withdrawing from the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights and withdrawing the Human Rights Act, thus closing down legislation that has been used by Cannabis Social Clubs. UKIP MEP Diane James then wrote a follow up email to say that policies would be made clear in the upcoming manifesto, but added ‘I would like to draw your attention to recent medical opinion on serious mental side effects of cannabis and skunk usage’ (referring to the latest skunk psychosis mania piece doing the rounds in the tabloid press).

Verdict: If UKIP plays the reform card it risks alienating the old Brigadiers and their well-mannered wives. But they also want to get the vote of the younger white working class and may consider playing the cannabis wildcard. If UKIP have to commit to a position then expect a demand for a Royal Commission to look at the evidence in great detail. That way they smoke but don’t inhale. Also expect them to change their opinion on the flick of a coin...

Nick Clegg, Liberal Democrat

Liberal Democrat PartyOf the big three parties likely to have significant influence in the halls of power, the Lib Dems are the most progressive towards reform. Coalition Drugs Minister, Norman Baker, commissioned a report considering whether criminal penalties impacted on drug use. The report found no evidence to suggest that being

She’s not as old as the stars in the sky, but in the world of professional cannabis strains, Nebula – which means star cloud – belongs to a group of cannabis stars that arised quite a long time ago:

It was in 1996, when Paradise breeder Luc created Nebula and chose this name for the strain’s “stellar qualities”. So Nebula looks back on a proud 18 years history already, she’safirst-generationParadiseclassicthatthanksto itsexcellence has successfully sustained its firm positionwithin the famous Paradise strain assortment.

Her mostly indica lineage consists of an unknown US strain crossed with the Master Widow strain which back then in 1996 was a 13th generation White Widow hybrid. From Master Widow, Nebula has inherited that legendary super-rich Widow resin content, while a sweet-fruity aroma and high yield potential was brought in by the US strain. With its open growth structure, she is very suitable for a sea-of-green setup, Paradise recommends to put 20 plants on one square meter, the yield is to be expected to amount up to 500 grams then. The plants require a fl owering time of 60-65 days to ripen. Nebula isn’t choosy with regard to grow mediums, performing well on hydro, coco or soil. Her buds are described as thick, even “obese” when receiving plenty of

light. Nebula smokers are enjoying a “transcendental and cerebral, sometimes even a little psychedelic” high, carried by a THC content of 15-18%. This strain’s superb profi le is made perfect by a sickly-sweet smell and a very honeyed fruity fl avor. Due to this, Luc feels that Nebula deserves the nickname “honey pot”… She can also be grown outdoors very well in temperate zones between 50º n.L. and 50º s.L., maturing in the middle of October and delivering yields of 500-600g per plant.

Nebula won the Copa La Bellar Flor Cup 2005 in Spain, took second place at the High Times Cannabis Cup 2005 and third place at the Highlife Cup 2004 (hydro category). The Doc wanted to be taken to the outer realms of the cannabis sky and decided to test-grow Nebula,

using a package of three feminized seeds. Germination was as reliable and fast as usual with Paradise strains, after three days, the young seedlings appeared above the Jiffy pot surface and stretched toward the light that came from a 600 W MH bulb which also supplied plants of two other strains. He planted them into 11 litre pots fi lled with Plagron Standard Mix soil, pimped with 5% expanded clay and horn chippings. Growth was very stout and bushy in the fi rst weeks, with a lot of side branches vividly coming off the nodes. When four weeks of vegetative growth had passed (The Doc had meanwhile added another 600 W MH and one 400 W HPS bulb), the three Nebulas, without having been pinched back or bent down, looked almost ball-shaped, with impressive side-branching and lush green leaves. And they were remarkably homogeneous, having arrived at heights of 44, 46 and 47 cm which was low, but The Doc expected that a noticeable stretching effect would set in during fl owering. He induced fl owering by reducing the daily light period from 18/6 to 12/12, at the same time replacing those two 600 W MHs by two 600 W HPS lights. It took the three Nebulas six days to reveal their female gender, with those fi rst prefl owers having become visible.

After two weeks of fl owering, The Doc reported: “Nebula is wasting no

#Taztetheztrainbro is a most appropriate slogan for the Zkittlez Hashish by Moonshine Melts. After all, she is a brash, insistent, and LOUD locomotive barreling through the cannabis world. The persistent buzz has been building for a while, but recently it has become an undeniable and deafening roar; and with good reason. Zkittlez has not only won many awards, but she has captured the hearts and tastebuds of all fortunate enough to have tried it.

“We create the nk.”- Brandon, Hashish maker, Moonshine Melts

It is a bold statement, though definitely not without merit. Brandon speaks lovingly of 3rd Gen Family, the tight-knit Mendocino County family known for being a closed circle, keenly focused on making the best medicine possible, and continually redefining measures of quality. In the last 24 months, 3rd Gen Family has amassed an enviable 18 awards.

“Plenty can be friends, but few can be family. We’re brothers.” - Shiloh Massive, Farmer

Not content to rely upon the skills of one member of the family, 3rd Gen Family features several talented growers and concentrate makers. It is the group-minded ethic and the unflinching

attention to detail that has made the family so successful.

Zkittl alone has garnered the following accolades:

2014 Emerald Cup 2nd Place (Concentrates)

2014 Emerald Cup 5th Place (Flower grown by Tony Mendocino)

2014 Emerald Cup 6th Place (Flower grown by Brandon)

2014 Seattle High Times Cannabis Cup 2nd Place US Solventless

2013 Emerald Cup 9th Place (Grown by Pineapple of Connoisseur Union)

Keeping the entire operation in-house, the Zkittlez Hashish was originated by the Terp Hogz crew. Organically sun-grown by Papa Greenbear in Spring 2013, this Sativa-dominant strain is an OG x Humboldt Grapefruit cross with more proprietary information not yet revealed. Brandon processed the whole plant fresh frozen. A heavy yielder, the Hashish was very resinous and odorous, and according to him, a joy to create. But considering all of the hype, will it be a joy to smoke?

Before me sits the 45 micron sample. In contemporary style, the Hashish in the jar is loose resin waiting to be pressed. Opening the jar affords me the immediate and unmistakable ambient aroma of gasoline, as well as my first good view of the tiny golden brown nuggets. I am amazed at how the trichome heads glisten like diamonds in the sunlight; individually packaged morsels of psychoactive bliss. Getting closer, continuous whiffs recall bright citrus that comes in waves, like driving through thousands of acres of orange and lemon trees in rural Florida. This exuded aroma harkens cocktails and good times. I pour a small amount of the resin onto parchment paper, and using a Hashish press, smooth the resin into a thin slab of terpy goodness. Her essential aroma is sweet like confectioner’s sugar. Like fine silk, I pick up a small portion of Hashish and gingerly drop it in my perfectly heated Halen Honey Hole. The dab is completely full-melt, bubbling beautifully as the enticing smoke curls seductively into the dab rig. A sinewy and determined lady is on her way and there is not much I can, nor want to, do about it.

With a mid-temperature dab, Zkittlez Hashish reveals herself and she is glorious. Inhaling and then exhaling the Hashish is like water-skiing through gasoline and then throwing a killer aerial while kite-surfing through a bag of tasty, unending rainbows. The flavor of Skittles candy overlays the initial fuel and carries through the end of
