Hebrews 9:23-28
Important Events in Life
• Day of our conversion
• Wedding day
• Birth of our children
• Loss of a loved one
Our Mortality
• Death comes to all• Then judgment (Hebrews 9:27)
• No access to tree of life (Genesis 3)
• Exist by a thread (Job 14:2; James 4:14)
Our Mortality
• Good to ponder death• “I will die” (Ecclesiastes 7:2)
• Admission of what will be
Our Mortality
• We do not know when• Overtakes us (Ecclesiastes 9:10-12)
• Only date on a will is the date it is signed
• May come when we least expect it (Luke 12:20)
Our Possessions
• A will says what is to be done• No U-Hauls in a funeral procession
• Leave the world as we entered (Job 1:21; Ecclesiastes 5:15, 16)
