NETS QUICK HITS

IF THE NETS WIN ➢ It would prevent the Nets from getting swept. ➢ It would improve Brooklyn’s home record in playoff game vs. Boston all-time to 8-2.

THE LAST DECADE – NETS IN THE PLAYOFFS ➢ This is the Nets’ seventh playoff appearance in the last 10 seasons (since moving to Brooklyn in 2012-13), tying the most playoff

appearances in a 10-year period in Nets history (previously: seven playoff appearances in a 10-season stretch from 1998-2007). ▪ See the chart for a look at the most consecutive playoff appearances the Nets have made all-time. ---------------- >

GAME 3 – CELTICS OUTLAST NETS IN BACK-AND-FORTH BATTLE IN BROOKLYN ➢ RESULT: The Nets shot well from the field (.506 FG %, .414 3FG %) and held their own on the glass (34-33 deficit), but 21 turnovers resulted in 37

Boston points in a 109-103 loss to the Celtics on Saturday night at Barclays Center. ▪ Brooklyn has dropped the first three games in this series by a total of 14 points.

➢ KEY STAT 1: The Nets are third in the playoffs in FG % (.502), trailing only Golden State (.531) and Phoenix (.512). ▪ Brooklyn is also third in effective FG % (.574), trailing only Golden State (.627) and Philadelphia (.583).

consecutive games (regular season or playoffs). ▪ The 26 points also represented the second-highest-scoring output in a game in his career (high: 29 points on 2/23/21 vs. Sacramento). ▪ In three games in this series, Brown has averaged 18.0 ppg (.588 FG, .500 3FG, .800 FT), 5.7 rpg and 3.0 apg in 38.2 mpg. ▪ Brown is 6-of-12 from distance in this series. STEVE NASH Steve Nash was named head coach of the Brooklyn Nets on September 3, 2020, becoming the 23rd head coach in the franchise’s NBA history. In his first season on the sideline, Nash directed the Nets to a 48-24 record, setting a franchise NBA record for winning percentage (66.7) in the process. Despite setting regular season franchise records for starting lineups used (38), players used (27) and players started (19), Nash guided Brooklyn to the second-best record in the Eastern Conference (their best finish since ranking second in the East in 2002-03), the fourth-best record in the NBA (their best-ever finish) and a trip to the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Brooklyn boasted one of the most potent offensive attacks in NBA history, posting a league-record 117.3 offensive rating, while setting a slew of single-season franchise records, including points per game (118.6), 3-point percentage (39.2 percent), free-throw percentage (80.4 percent), 3-pointers made per game (14.2) and assists per game (26.8). Nash earned Eastern Conference Coach of the Month honors in February, becoming the fifth Nets head coach to garner a Coach of the Month award and the first since Jason Kidd nearly seven years earlier (Mar. 2014). Nash joined the Nets following five seasons (2015-20) as a player development consultant with the Golden State Warriors, where he contributed to two NBA Championship teams and made four consecutive trips to the NBA Finals. He is the fifth man in NBA history to win multiple MVP awards as a player and serve as a head coach, joining Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Bill Russell and Bob Pettit.

An eight-time NBA All-Star, Nash played 18 seasons (1996-2014) with the Phoenix Suns (1996-98, 2004-12), Dallas Mavericks (1998-04) and Los Angeles Lakers (2012-14). He won back-to-back MVP awards in 2005 and 2006 while playing for the Suns, becoming just the 10th player in NBA history to win the award in consecutive seasons. Nash was named to All-NBA teams seven times throughout his career, earning first-team honors three times (2005-07), while twice being named to the second (2008, 2010) and third teams (2002, 2003). He made 12 trips to the postseason during his playing career, including four trips to the Western Conference Finals, and ranks ninth in NBA history in playoff assists (1,061). A five-time assist champion, Nash currently ranks third in NBA history with 10,335 career assists. The culmination of his brilliant playing career came in 2018 when Nash was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, which followed his induction in the Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor in 2015. Having grown up in Victoria, British Columbia, Nash is one of the most accomplished figures in Canadian basketball history. He was a member of Team Canada from 1993-2004 and served as general manager for the senior national team from 2012-19. Nash played collegiately for four seasons (1992-96) at Santa Clara University prior to being selected 15th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft.
