The Leadership Advancement Society of IACURH
Presents the
Leadership Advancement Scholarship Application
Overview
The Leadership Advancement Society of IACURH offers scholarships to first-time delegates in
order to subsidize or fully cover the registration fee for the annual IACURH Regional Conference.
The scholarships purpose is to allow a greater number of leaders to attend the IACURHConference and, in doing so, contribute to the overall development of IACURH leaders through
conference programming, delegation bonding, and regional exposure.
An ideal scholarship recipient would present the following characteristics in their application:
A desire and commitment to expanding their leadership skill set through residence hallleadership
Scholastic achievement and vision for a career-oriented future A continued interest in residence hall leadership and regional (IACURH) and national
(NACURH) involvement
A dedicated passion to create an impact within the residence halls An eagerness to benefit from the IACURH Conference and, as a result, utilize skills
learned to create an impact on their home campus
Leadership Advancement Scholarship recipients shall, in conjunction with receiving the funds, be
formally recognized by the LAS-I Chair during the IACURH Conference Closing Banquet.
Candidate Eligibility
In order to be eligible to receive the LAS Scholarship, candidates must be considered first-time
delegates, meaning that the upcoming IACURH Conference is their first time attending aconference.
Scholarships will be awarded to individuals who present outstanding leadership, academic
excellence, and a commitment to residence hall leadership.

Selection Process
The LAS-I Chair will make a preliminary overview of all applications submitted and select 10
scholarship applications to be sent to the LAS Selection Committee.
The LAS Selection Committee is comprised of all current Regional Communications Coordinators
in office and the Regional Adviser, being facilitated by the current LAS-I Chair. The following
individuals will make up the LAS Selection Committee:

Bianca Hong | RCC-NCCTD
Cyri Dixon | RCC-PRRHA
AJ Ardovino | RCC-PT
Molly Kinne | Regional Adviser
The LAS Selection Committee will review the applications and notify the Scholarship Recipients
on FridayOctober 22nd, 2010.
Scholarship Submissionand DeadlinesEach school is permitted to submit two applications to the LAS-I Chair. It is the responsibility of
each institutions National Communications Coordinator to ensure that only two applications are
submitted to the LAS-I Chair. If an NCC receives more than two applications, the NCC will select
only two applications and submit them to the LAS-I Chair.
The LAS Application and any other materials must be submitted by11:59pm MST on Friday
October 15th, 2010 via email to [email protected]. The application and any other materials must
be submitted inAdobe PDF Format only.
