Officer Cobum spoke with a Witness tanding hy, who reported that he was going notth on Rt 7 when he observeda vehicle in the djtch in fro11t of 11901 .Rt 7, he obsctvcd a male cxHitlg the driver side and a female exit ing the passe11gerside. WitneRs asked i they were "ok" and the male driver of he vehicle, told the Witness they were ''ok'' and he would caa tow.Witness reports he then observed the male (older Navy P coat) and female (well dressed with flowers) walking northboundon Rt 7 toward lU 83. O:fficor Winter checked the CVS store and the area along Rt 83 for anyone on foot to t.10 avail.Officer Marrocco checked Palos Community ER aml the area along 80th ave for the male and female, to no avail. PP.P.JJunits were unable to locnte the driver or passenger.O'IJ:i.cor Winter was going to locate a Standard Bank representative to review the video from Standard Bank to clarifY thedriver and passengers well-being.The vehicle was unoccupied. and appeared to have some under carriage. damage where it made contact with a cement blockin the ditch. Officer Cobum was going to contact PPPD's on call tow company Auto Medics. Officer Ch.ibe stated that theindividual was reqm,sting copies ofrepott pertaining to an accident involving a Village of Oak Lawn vebi.clu on Thursday,12/12/2013 ('121313006).R/Sgt mot with tho individual who identified himself as Robert Streit, Oak Lawn Village Trustee. Robert advised that b.ebecame aware of an accident involving a person in a management position with the Village ofOak Lawn through dispatcherswho had contacted him. Robert stated that 11-om h i ~ understand lug, following the accident, the Oak Law11 Police Chiefreported to the scene and piekod up the vehicles dl'iver. Robert stated that he was receiving calls fromseveral Oak Lawn Dispatchers asking what happened and seekjng "jlL'ltice". Robort also stated that "sometimes incidents likethese can easily disappear" and he wanted to make sure this did not happen.
