“You won’t believe it,” said Chick. “I measured myself on one side of the bridge and when I got to the other side I shrunk!”

“I want to try!” exclaimed Beaver, so the two friends went to Small Block Spot.

“Owl! Owl!” they shouted. “Whoa! What’s going on?” Replied Owl“Owl! We shrunk by walking over the bridge in the meadow!” exclaimed Beaver.

“That’s nonsense” Owl replied.“We’ll show you!” they said together.

“First, let’s stack up all the blocks.”

“Now how tall is Owl?” asked Chick.

“We need to measure with something that is the same for everyone, everywhere,” explained Chick. “There are several measurements you can use that are the same everywhere, like centimeters, inches and feet,” said Owl. “You can find these on rulers.”

Beaver suggested “Let’s use a ruler with inches!”

“Line up the zero on the ruler with one end of your body and count up the inches to the other end of your body.”“One inch, two inches, three inches, four inches, five inches, six inches. You are six inches long.”
