Model HP ProBook 6560b Criminal Charges Felony theft REPORT: The victim in this case reported that during a visit to a relative’s home, a domestic disturbance broke out. The laptop, which was on loan from the victim’s college, was left unattended amongst many unknown individuals and was missing when the incident was over. The victim was not familiar with any of the people on the scene, therefore a suspect was not identified at that time. Because the device was property of the school, it was outfitted with Absolute Persistence Technology. The theft was not reported for several weeks, but when the Investigations and Recovery Team utilized Absolute Forensic Tools, the location of the stolen laptop and the suspected user were discovered and the information was given to local law enforcement.
