LibertyVille HighschoolLanguage Lab PoliciesLibertyville High School International Languages DepartmentLanguage Lab Rules and PoliciesLibertyville Community High School District 128 has made a major financialINVESTMENTin language laboratory equipment to provide educational opportunities for its students. In order to guarantee proper care of the equipment, all students and parents must sign this policy statement to indicate that they are aware of the rules and understand the consequences should those rules be violated.Students who do not have this policy statement on file will be denied access to this facility.Students must have a current, signed Internet Student Acceptable Use Policy on file at the school. In addition to the rules listed here, all guidelines and consequences in the Acceptable Use Policy apply when students use the Language Lab. All rules apply whether students attend with their class or use the lab for individual makeup work.

Entering the Lab1. Walk quietly in the lab.2. No food, beverages, gum, or candy are permitted at anytime in the lab.3. Pencils only are to be used in the lab.4. Bring only the materials requested by your teacher to the lab.5. Any backpacks or materials not used for the lesson will be left in the front area.Using Lab Stations6. Sit in your assigned seat only.7. No adjusting of chairs is allowed without permission.8. Respect the furniture by not spinning or tipping the chairs or marking on the furniture.9. Do not move computers or monitors.10. Notify your teacher or the lab facilitator if any equipment or furniture needs adjustment or repair.Logging on11. Quickly log on to the school network as soon as you take your seat.12. Immediately report any problems with logon or equipment malfunctions.13. Quickly log on to monitoring software using your language name as assigned by your teacher.14. Do not engage in any other computer activity until directed.Using Headsets15. Do not wear headsets until directed.16. Headsets are to be treated with care; do not unplug or bend any part of headset.17. Immediately report any problems with headsets.Completing Activities18. Listen carefully and follow all instructions given by your teacher or the lab facilitator.19. Ask the teacher or lab facilitator if you need help with the lesson or the equipment.20. Do not leave your seat without permission.21. Immediately report any equipment problems or failures with computer access if they occur.Prohibited Activities22. Do not open any programs unless you are specifically instructed to do so.23. No opening websites or emailing without permission.24. Do not change or access computer settings.25. Do not attempt to fix any hardware problems.26. Do not play personal CDs or use any unauthorized programs.27. Do not wear personal headphones without permission from your teacher.Exiting the Lab28. Stations must be left in ready condition for the next student.29. Chairs must be pushed in and headsets hung up properly.30. Quietly leave the lab.Consequences31. Students and parents need to understand that a student's careful and cooperative participation in activities in the lab may be included in computing a student's quarter grade.32. Students and their parents will be held liable for damage to equipment, software, and furniture.33. If a student violates any of the rules, he or she will be subject to disciplinary actions which may include notification of parents, detentions and/or denial of lab access for that day and/or privileges for a period of time up to the remainder of the school year.
