They aim to improve pedestrian accessibility and provide much needed space for people to stop, rest, interact and socialise. Key Improvements • Improve laneway safety and amenity by upgrading pavement, improving lighting and installing artistic elements. • Increase pedestrian accessibility by providing equitable access, installing wayfinding signage, creating shared spaces and reducing the speed of motorists. • Enhance greening via new trees, garden beds and climbing plants where feasible. • Offer resting opportunities by finding suitable locations for new seating.

Design Intent

The proposed improvements seek transform these laneways into unique destinations that provide interest, respite and human scale experiences. They aim to improve pedestrian accessibility and provide much needed space for people to stop, rest, interact and socialise.

Key Improvements

• Improve laneway safety and amenity by upgrading pavement, improving lighting and installing artistic elements.

• Increase pedestrian accessibility by providing equitable access, installing wayfi nding signage, creating shared spaces and reducing the speed of motorists.
