LANDSCAPE PROPSAL FOR BACK OF BUILDINGS EAST SIDE OF COMPLEX
Attached are three different proposals for the back of building 5, starting at the beginning units
511/521, to run to the end of building 2, 213/223 units. The landscape committee feels that plants are
needed in these areas to give the residents privacy and fix the undesirable view. All plants will be
planted on the berm between the oak trees. Please see diagram and photo below.
Building 1 does not back up to any windows
and/or equipment from the ALF see photo to
the left. It is up to the board to decide if plants
are needed there, pricing is given in a separate
line, it is recommended to keep visual
continuity. The board needs to decide if plants
will be added between the buildings to fill the
view from the courtyards. To keep costs down,
the courtyard view is not recommended.
The board and landscape committee
understand that no planting can be done until
the drainage/elevation work is completely finished. This information should be passed along to the
owners along with a date of when landscaping will start. The landscape committee recommends to the
board that all planting be done by the chosen landscape company due to drainage pipes, sprinkler lines,
tree roots, etc.
Also included are price points for the cost of planting a palm tree to replace where the landscapers cut
down an 8 foot tree w/berries between building 9 and 10. It has been asked of our landscapers to take
out the stump. On page 6, there are some requests to the board, by owners, for approval. On page 7,
there is a request from the landscape committee for board approval.

Two landscapers were asked for quotes, Beltrans Nursery in Punta Gorda off Taylor Road and Gonzalez
Nursery on Pine Island. The association has worked with Gonzalez before. They planted the Christmas
Palms around the pool.

6
Proposal for Palm Tree Replacement on Island between building 9 and 10.
Due to the landscapers removing an 8 foot tree out of this island, a palm tree is recommended for a
replacement. Palms have roots that are ball shaped and less chance of cracking concrete. The landscape
committee feels a Christmas Tree Palm (3 cluster) would best fit the landscape design. Recommendation
would be either the 25 gallon or 15 gallon Christmas tree. Preferred for visual and same size
replacement would be the 25 gallon.
XMAS TREE
Beltrans
Field $350 planted
25 gallon $275 planted
Gonzalez
Field $300
25 gallon $200
15 gallon $90 5 foot tall.
Owner Requests for Board Approval.
It has been asked by the owner of 1011, Joetta Crupi. That if she purchased a 25 gallon Silver Biskmark
($175 out of her pocket) could it planted in front of her lanai. This would replace the mango tree that
the landscapers took out. The $175 is for the plant only. She was hoping the landscape committee could
plant if approved. It would cost an extra $100 for Beltrans to deliver and plant.
It has been asked by multiple owners if the dead berry tree could be removed in the parking peninsula
to between building 3 and 2. This could be done by the landscape committee using a truck/chain pull
method.

Landscape Committee Request
After visually looking at the islands, the committee feels that the island at building 10 is out of place. The
committee would like to transfer the Majesty Palm to behind building 1 middle unit and transfer
another palm from building 7 side to behind unit 111. There is currently a Majesty Palm by unit 113 that
needs to be moved slightly away from the lanai screen and pruned. By transplanting these palms, it
would cost nothing to the association and add continuity.
The Majesty Palms prefer shade and no more than 4 hours of sun. They are slow growers. Takes over 10
years to get 10 feet tall. Will grow to 20 feet if in the right conditions.
The cost to replant the island in front of building 10 would be around $60.
