Initial Consultation Our initial consultation provides an ideal opportunity to spend time with you, and gain an understanding of your ideal outdoor space. Whether you need an area for dining with the family, socialising with friends or an oasis to relax in, our many years of garden design experience will provide you with abundant ideas to inspire you. At your consultancy:

Our designer will take time to discuss and understand the features and characteristics you desire from your garden.

We can walk around the space together and determine what would enhance the space to suit your needs and help you to realise the garden’s full potential.

On completion of your comprehensive consultation, we can decide which design route is best tailored to you and we can then provide a quotation for this service.

What to consider beforehand:

Decide which areas in the garden you are interested in discussing.

Consider whether you would like to create a particular atmosphere or establish a specific style.

Do you require an instant garden or can you wait for plants to mature with time?

How long are you planning to stay in the property?

What time period do you anticipate to effect the changes?

Brief & Concept

Following our initial meeting, a written brief and inspirational mood board will be produced to communicate our aspirations for the space.

This is an opportunity to ensure that we have understood your desires for your garden and to discuss any alterations you wish to make.

The concept mood board will illustrate our ideas for different aspects of your garden with the use of inspiring photographs of plants, designs and features.

We believe this should be a fun and interactive experience and we encourage you to get as involved as you wish in consolidating an ideal concept for your garden.

Survey Every design will require a survey of the site. We may be able to obtain an existing survey of the garden that we can work from or a new one will need to be carried out. Depending on the complexity and size of your garden, a member from our team can carry out a basic outline survey or we may recommend an external surveyor to form a more comprehensive survey. As a guide, the price of a survey can range from £500 for a small, level garden, to £2600 for a large, com-plex site. We can provide you with a quote on request, once the site has been assessed. All prices include VAT.

Design Presentation Presentation Plan

3D Walkthrough

We will present a 3D virtual tour of your new outdoor space, which will transport you into your future garden. This will be a colour rendered animation with lifelike textures and materials. A realistic representation of your house will be visualised to contextualise your garden. The planting shown will be a 3D representational illustration of the structure and leaf form of the plants we envisage. A suggested planting list will also be included with the design.

A detailed garden layout plan is the final drawing we produce, illustrating the potential of the garden. This will enable you to see every structural aspect of the design, drawn to scale, including key plants, hard landscaping and features.

Design Package As part of the Cedar Nursery experience we will present you with a garden box file which will safely store your design documents. Full Garden Design Price Guide The initial consultation will cost £50. Prices for a full design start from £800 and are dependent on the complexity, size and topography of the garden. All prices include VAT. Here are some examples of previous projects and their price bracket.

Planting Plan

This service offers comprehensive documents which can help to enhance existing

borders or to follow on from our garden design package.

Creating a plan which illustrates the position, size and species of the individual

plants. Symbolic and easy to follow, ideal for tendering or discharging council

planning conditions.

Planting schemes designed by our experienced horticulturists will create shape

and form in the garden and provide interest throughout the seasons. Whether you

want a simple scheme, rose beds or herbaceous borders we can provide a scheme

to suit.

Pricing

The price for this service is dependent on the square meterage of planting area.

Plant Placing Service We can plan your planting on site with a wide selection of plants hand picked

with you during a tour of the nursery. Our skilled horticulturists will then place

the suggested plants around your garden for your approval in our tried and tested

method of design.

Once the design has been completed, Cedar Nursery offers a comprehensive service that takes the stress away from the implementation process. We have introduced systems that monitor work flow, hours utilised, money spent and other resources used to

complete the project, managing the planning so that it meets the client’s implementation and construction budget.

Specification

Within this service we provide a detailed

description of all the work required to realise your

design within a specification that complies with the

landscape design industry standard. The

specification forms part of the “contract

document” between the client and the landscape

contractor.

We then tender these documents to an agreed pool

of landscape contractors of your choice, and visit

the site on a regular basis, overseeing the

implementation of the design and preparing

weekly progress reports.

Pricing

The fee for this service is 10% of the overall

implementation cost.
