For most of this day you walk through the heart of the Bowland Fells and on a clear day the views from the Salter Fell Track are stunning.

GPS: SD 7138 5234Before you set off look out for Tercet Five in the car park. Starting from the car park, take a right onto the road and keep ahead. Turn right passing the Hark to Bounty pub. Keep ahead for a short way and take a right once you reach a path into the woodland (just after the health centre) and follow the path next to the river.

GPS: SD 7076 5271Over a wooden stile and continue on the path ahead until you reach a double wooden gate. Then keeping to the right fence edge keep ahead.

GPS: SD 7044 5288Over the wooden stile and keep to the right fence edge again to reach a wooden kissing gate and stone stile. Then over the bridge next to the tree and continue straight across the field to the right field corner.

GPS: SD 7039 5321Through a wooden gate. Keep to the right hand wall until it ends and then turn right towards Myttons Farm. Continue through a wooden gate and into the farmyard.

GPS: SD 7014 5356 Turn left out of the farmyard and follow the track out to the lane. Turn right and follow the lane uphill passing Higher Wood House Farm till you reach the fell gate.

GPS: SD 6923 5481Through the fell gate and turn right to continue along the track. Ignore the bridleway off to your left and continue ahead to the next gate and through it.

GPS: SD 6937 5508You will now follow this track which also follows the line of a Roman Road for several miles. After you have crossed Shooter’s Clough and as you approach the disused Quarry you’ll come across Tercet Six (SD 6831 5662)

GPS: SD 6831 5662Continue on over Hard Hill Top ignoring the public footpath down to Whitendale to the left. Over Guide Hill and Salter Fell and High Salter Close till you reach High Salter Farm (SD 6085 6252)
