The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults: RCIA inquiry is for Adults that are interested in find-

ing out more about the Catholic Church. The Minis-

try is for non-baptized adults, or adults baptized in

another Christian community that may want to in-

quire about coming into full communion with the

Catholic Church. The question and answer sessions

will start October 11th at 1:00pm.

September 13, 2015 Twenty-Fourth Sunday

in Ordinary Time “You are the Christ.”

Today we hear the Apostle Peter give the right

answer, that Jesus is the Messiah, and then be

rebuked by Jesus .How often have we been asked a

question and given an answer that seems to be right

and when we get more information it raises questions

in our own mind. Peter is comfortable in who he

thinks Jesus is, but when he paints the picture of

rejection and death, Peter is not comfortable with the

answer Jesus gives to him.

Jesus asks us today to be open to who He really is, not

who we expect him to be. He came into the world to

save all people, even those we might see as lazy or

ambitious, or bitter, busybodies or even those who just

don’t want to get involved. Jesus wants us to look to

Him for the answer. To check with Him to see what is

it that He wants. To cooperate in His plan rather than

having a quick answer we think is the “right answer”.

Hoy escuchamos al Apóstol Pedro dar la respuesta

correcta, que Jesús es el Mecía, y luego ser reprendido

por Jesús. Que tan seguido nos han hecho una

pregunta y nos han dado la respuesta que parece la

correcta y cuando nos informamos mas surgen mas

preguntas en nuestra mente. Pedro se siente confiado

en quien cree el que es Jesús, pero cuando pinta el

cuadro del rechazo y la muerte, Pedro no se siente

confiado con la respuesta que Jesús le da. Jesús nos

pide hoy estar abiertos a quien El es en realidad, no a

quien queremos que sea. El vino a este mundo a salvar

a toda la gente, hasta a esos que parecen perezoso o

ambiciosos, o amargos, ocupados o hasta a esos que

simplemente no quieren estar involucrados. Jesús

quiere que lo busquemos a El para encontrar la

respuesta. Que nos fijemos en el para ver que es lo

que El quiere. Que cooperemos en Su plan en vez de

tener una respuesta rápida que creamos es la

"respuesta correcta”.
