We, the brothers of lambda strive to be a positive influential source for communities at large, which will allow for community building. To motivate educate and bring together men of all ages and backgrounds within the commonwealth of Massachusetts. We envision a community of men that feel empowered to become leaders and take initiatives in the growth and development of their fellow community members. A Message from the Chapter President

Greetings to the Brothers, Supporters, and Community members!

I wish this message reaches you well and in great spirit. Although it is later in the year, but allow me to wish you all a Happy New Year 2013. May we each be blessed with joy, happiness, good health and prosperity. May we all be granted the strength to continue to serve our communities. May we continue to strengthen our bonds as brothers and with fellow community members. May we stay focus on everything positive as we continue to build this empire to lead a legacy. May God bless us and keep us all.

To the Brothers of the Lambda Chapter of Kappa Psi Kappa Fraternity Incorporated, I thank you for allowing me to preside over the chapter for another year. Your nominations and votes certify your trust in my leadership ability to carry the chapter forward, and for that, I am immensely grateful. As the New Year 2013 progresses, I envision the Lambda chapter strengthening its relationship with supporters and community members while we continue to volunteer our times, skills and talents. I look forward to developing community partnership to maximize resources to better serve our community members.

To the supporters and community members, the chapter looks to develop an even stronger bond within our community in order to enhance the quality of life. Through our events and activities we look to attract men like ourselves who would commit to community service. In return, we promise to transform them through brotherhood, culture, leadership, service and cooperation. As the chapter president, I plan to facilitate opportunities for professional growth and development for every chapter member and interest alike.

Lastly, I promise to remain open and positive in every administrative decision. I will humble myself to lead with an open door policy so we can address the needs of the chapter and our community. Thank you all for your support and I look forward to serving our community.

Welcoming the Newest Lamb Bro. Michael Williams

Brother Michael Williams became a member of the Lambda Chapter on November 17, 2012. His technical background has already been a great

contribution to the chapter. Join me as we learn a little bit about Brother Williams to speak with him.

Brother Williams, what do you hope to bring to the Lambda Chapter? “I hope to bring Technological techniques. I come from a business background and I would like to bring my professionalism. I would also like to bring my unique set of eyes, and bring a new sense of self”. What does the word brotherhood mean to you? “Brotherhood is term that differs between individuals, but it means to me a bond that you can’t break. Its stronger then family. Its family to me; they are here for you from when you cross to when you pass-away. You always have someone pushing you forward and helping you grow”. How are you different since you joined the Lambda Chapter? “I am more confident in things that I can do. I’m also more structured and discipline, and I also feel like I have matured more although I am the youngest member in this chapter. Further more, I feel that I have expectations to hold up to”.

Share a moment that has helped shape you into the man you are today? A moment that helped shape me into the man I am today is by going through all of life’s challenges. Through those challenges, I was able to utilize support from mentors, friends, professors and of course from some of my brothers within the Lambda Chapter. Where would you like to see the Lambda Chapter in the next three years? I would like to see the Lambda Chapter grow in terms of its membership, build better relationships with current supporters & sponsors and develop new relationships with other community members/organizations. I would also like to see the Lambda Chapter become more involved in the community and not only in terms of community service, but also by attending or having events that involve both stake holders and youth. What words would you share with an aspiring member? Brotherhood, Kativating, Love, Commitment, Dedication, Positivity, Creativity and Faith

Building Community Partnerships By Ayana Blue From Fenway Health

To  be  a  great  volunteer,  you  must  possess  a  few  characteristics.  You  must  appreciate  and  like  the  cause  you  are  supporting,  work  hard,  be  attentive  to  the  needs  of  the  organization  and  have  fun  (of  course)!    For  the  past  4  years  the  Lambda  Chapter  has  volunteered  for  two  of  Fenway  Health’s  most  important  events,  The  

Women’s  Dinner  Party  and  The  Men’s  Event.  These  gala  events  assist  in  raising  funds  to  support  the  programs  and  services  offered  by  Fenway  Health  to  the  LGBT  community  and  surrounding  neighbors.    Fenway  Health’s  development  office  depends  on  reliable  volunteers  like  the  members  of  the  Lambda  

Chapter,  in  order  to  provide  quality  customer  service  to  our  1000  or  so  guests  that  attend  each  event.    This  group  has  proven  themselves  as  great  volunteers.    During  what  can  be  a  hectic  time  for  the  event  staff,  these  

gentlemen  are  always  attentive  and  ready  to  support  us  however  we  need  it.  Members  have  dedicated  additional  hours  beyond  the  events  to  join  the  planning  committee  of  the  Men’s  Event  or  support  the  

development  staff  in  the  office  in  getting  organized  for  the  galas.    

The  gentlemen  of  the  Lambda  Chapter  have  become  more  than  just  volunteers.  They  have  become  true  friends  of  Fenway  Health.  It  is  clear  by  their  enthusiasm  to  volunteer  for  Fenway  that  they  care  about  the  organization  and  support  our  mission.  We  have  developed  a  great  professional  and  personal  relationship
