LAKESIDE ESTATES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION POOL CLOSES SEPTEMBER 17TH Summer is over! Parents please remind your teenagers that the pool is a family environment and they need to act appropriately or they will be banned from using the pool. We had to remove a few for their behavior. We had a change with our security guard and finding another guard that would be a good fit was difficult but we believe this issue has been resolved. Please make a note that the issuance for replacement pool cards is a process that may take up to 5-7 business days. Volunteer board members are issuing cards so keep this in mind when you make your request and allow enough me to receive. MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD 6th Annual Muddy Creek 5K & Fun Run When: Saturday, April 6th, 2013 5K begins at 8:30 AM 1 mile walk /fun run begins at approximately 8:40AM Where: Start/Finish at Sage Creek Pool (800 Springwell Parkway) Course is USA Track & Field (USATF) cerfied. Professionally med using same disposable chip ming technology as NY & Boston Marathons Cost: Free to Sage Creek & Lakeside Estates residents. Non residents $10 for 5K + donaon of non perishable food items; 1 mile is free with non perishable food donaon. **All donaons benefit the Wylie Chrisan Care Center** WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! - It takes lots of volunteers for the race to be a success. Pre-race: February-March (4-6 volunteers) to gather sponsors, pass out posters/flyers Race week: April 2-5 (4-6 volunteers) for pung together race packets and passing out packets/shirts at packet pickup April 3-5, packet pickup is usually at the Sage Creek Club House. Race Day: Pre Race: 6AM-8AM (10 volunteers) to set up race course, set up late registraon area, packet pick up for those who didn’t pick up previously, set up vendor/sponsor area, and set up refreshment table and water staons on course. During race: 7:30AM-9AM (10 volunteers) 4 people to man water staons, 1 person to man 1 mile turn around at 1/2 mile mark, 5 course monitors. (Course does have signs denong every turn as well.) Post race: 9AM-11AM (8 volunteers) to break down water staon and road blocks, break down registraon area and vendor area. We can also use people with a markeng background to help promote the race and an arsc background to help design the T-Shirt for the 2013 race. Anyone interested in learning more, please contact John Onufreiczuk, Race Director at [email protected] or 214.356.6718 We hope to have the inial organizaonal meeng in late fall to plan and start coordinang the 2013 race plan. UPDATES FOR LAKESIDE ESTATES: • Effecve immediately replacement pool cards will cost $15. • A bullen board for posngs has been added at pool. If you have something during pool season you would like to post please request via www.lakesideestateswylie.com. • Playground equipment has been updated and repaired. • New roof installed at pool house. • Security System installed at pool. • New card reader system installed at pool. • Gazebo and arbors at pool were stained. • New shade covers were installed. EXTERIOR HOME IMPROVEMENT HOA Guideline booklets were handed to every homeowner in 2011. This was to help each homeowner understand their obligaon as a resident at Lakeside Estates and to follow the procedures required for any exterior changes that need board ap- proval. It is each homeowner’s responsibility to get approval for things such as new fencing, pao coverings, etc. This is so we can keep connuity within the community to keep it looking its best. The board is required to adhere to the bylaws wrien by the developers. If it falls within the guidelines then it is approved. If everyone follows these steps then there should be no reason why it wouldn’t be approved.
