We were able to acknowledge the powerful learning and
fantastic attendance through a range of awards. Student
Voice hosted the assemblies and shared their vision
around how the students can inform the decisions around
yard equipment and yard processes. They will be gathering
feedback from students as to what reward can be put in
place once the accomplishment jar is full. Currently
individual students get an accomplishment card to take
home.
Student Voice are also looking at unit rewards for the least
yard violence incidents. Students were keen to be a part of
this and had lots of ideas to submit.
We also had some fabulous demonstrations of Skipping
and classroom work.

Governing Council ReportGoverning Council met on Wednesday evening this week
to support the school with a range of decisions.
Council approved the school budget and discussed areas
of possible expenditure from our saving account. We
discussed stang changes at the school and how the year
6/7 to HS will impact on both of these.
This year the school will advertise a Deputy Principal
position which is a shift from our current 3 Band 3 Senior
Leaders. A Leader position will also be advertised for
classroom support and engagement. The school will
reduce in numbers by approximately 60-70 students which
Assemblies are back! Congratulations to ouraward recipients and Thank you to our
presenters.

will impact on levels of funding, number of classes etc. The
school has been carefully planning for the transition and is
in a good position for the move.
Council also discussed fundraising and have approved the
following school and outside charity fundraisers. Further
information will be sent out during the year around these.
Term 2: Jump Rope for Heart, Story Dogs: Pyjama Day
Term 3: Colour Run, SIDS: Casual Clothes' Day
Term 4: School Disco
Council also approved the ongoing sale of some ice blocks
throughout the year instead of just term 1 & 4 and also a
donut day as the Red food day for term 2. Money raised
from these supports the school to maintain a school run
canteen.
Council also approved two policies. One is the Sunsmart
policy which has had little change from previous policies. It
is attached below for your reference and is available on
the school's website.
The second policy is the new Device use policy. This has
been a Departmental approved policy directly linked to the
new legislation around Mobile Device use in Primary
school settings. School sta will work with students
around what the changes mean. Please familiarise yourself
with the device policy so you can support your child with
the correct use of mobile devices (phones, smart watches
etc.)

Happy Volunteer WeekEvery year we acknowledge the valuable work that our volunteers do for our community. This
year it is no dierent. From working in our canteen, to serving on the Governing Council we
appreciate it all. As we still navigate Covid sites are still having to follow DfE procedures
regarding volunteers being on site. We hope to be able to allow class reading, helping in the
Library and the Kitchen/Garden soon. We thank you for your continued support.

Room 2This term, Room 2 has been learning about Measurement. We used dierent informal units
such as Unix cubes, pop sticks etc. to estimate and measure the length of dierent objects
around the classroom. Students recorded their ndings and reected on their estimation and
actual measurement. Below are students reections: " I have learned that my sharpener is
6 unix cubes long." "It was fun learning with unix cubes.

Choir NewsOn Tuesday our Festival of Music Choir students had an assessment visit from the choir
director, Robyn Filmer. Robyn listened to the choir sing through several songs from this year's
program and gave feedback on our progress. She was very impressed with the behaviour and
presentation of the choir and enjoyed listening to us sing some of our favourite pieces. Well
done everyone.

SAPSASA NewsOur rst SAPSASA Carnival for the year was Boys Football and Girls Netball, which took place
last term at Argana Park, on Thursday 1st April. The weather was perfect and plenty of
supporting parents were there on the day cheering on our students. Mr. Slack was the coach of
the Boys Football team which ended up equal winners for the day, narrowly losing only one
match. Nevertheless, they ended up joint winners.
Miss Grist coached the Girls Netball team and Kerry Williams helped out the Girls, while also
working hard by umpiring several games throughout the day. The Girls skillfully eased through
all of their games as victors, except for one really close game. Our Girls lost marginally to the
winning School for the day. The Girls Netball team came Runners Up.
It was an awesome day all round, Congratulations and well done to the following Students:
Boys Football-Farin Wanganeen, Bailey Shepherd, Tyler Stacey, Jake Dudley, Seth Michaux, Jake
Perrin, Lachlan Cairns, Kelvin Bozan, Declan Gutte, Yawar Abbas, Mason Davies, Isaiah Bennett,
Tyrell Calyun, Will Whitehouse, Aiden Walkusk and Lachlan Spencer.
Girls Netball- Izzabell Fidock, Matilda Walkuski, Maliah Finnie, Bianca Fisher, Acacia Barre, Grace
Zarazinski, Blaze Reihana, Alicia Cook, Ella Flowers and Laticia Bellman.
We look forward to the next Boys Netball and Girls Soccer SAPSASA Carnival which will be held
on the 28th May, again held at Argana Park.
