Best Places for an Autumn Adventure in Tahoe

1) Tahoe has some of the best RV camping around. Exploreyour options here. And if gorging on hot dogs and smores isn'tyour idea of a great camping trip (or if it is, and you need towork off those extra calories), check out the 165 miles of trailsto hike at Lake Tahoe. Whether it's through the mountains oraround the lake, the weather's sure to be beautiful and thesurroundings amazing.

2) Maybe you've OD'd on natural beauty and are looking forsomething of the man-made variety. How about a replica of an11th-century Viking castle, which sits on the shores of EmeraldBay with views of the lake (OK, there's a little natural beauty inthere). Learn more about Vikingsholm, then check it out foryourself.

3) If you're like many of the people in my family, a trip wouldn'tbe successful if you didn't come home with something toremember it by. Whether it's a velvet Elvis to spruce up the RVor something a bit more, um, refined, Tahoe boastsa smorgasbord of art galleries that fit everyone's tastes.

4) Roasting weenies over a campfire ain't the only way to eatin the woods. Tahoe has some great places to dine that runthe price gamut.

5) Tahoe isn't renowned for it's vino like Napa or Sonoma, butthere are some nice tours around El Dorado County (self-proclaimed "original wine country of California") for anyoenophiles that need a quick fix. This tour gives folks adetailed narration of the rich history and geography of thehistoric county, as well.
