Re: October Status Report for Lake Powell CDD

    CE No. 231.01

    Dear Mr. McGaffney:

Cypress Environmental is pleased to provide you this report of activities for October 2014 regarding environmental issues for Lake

    Powell CDD / Wild Heron.

As reported in the September report, we received approval from Terry Wells to start the mowing activities in the mitigation zones, as

outlined in Current Conditions Report on 10-1-2014.

On 10-2-2014, Bill Musgrove, Mike Riddle, Gary Lorenz, and I met with the contractor for the cutting activities to discuss the overall

scope of work and to review the first work area, which consisted of Zones 1, 3, and 4. The contractor started working that afternoon on

    Zone 1.

On 10-7-2014, I met Mike Riddle onsite to review the progress. The contractors have done a good job on cutting and were expected to

be complete with the zones in Work Area 1 that afternoon. Upon completion, they were going to move to Work Area 3, which

    encompasses Zones 13, 26, and 27.

On 10-14-2014, I met with Bill Musgrove and Gary Lorenz onsite to review cutting progress and to review the ponds for the presence

of cogon, and to review the cogon treatment areas in anticipation of upcoming treatment.

On 10-21-2014, I met with Bill Musgrove and Gary Lorenz onsite to review cutting progress.

On 10-31-2014, I was onsite with Southern Pine, LLC for the cogon treatment. Overall, the first treatment was very successful, with

notable suppression of the amount of new growth. The treatment areas were as follows:

Marsh Rabbit Run at Conservation Area adjacent to 22109 and 22116; Meadowlark Way across from 1607 Meadowlark

Way; Marsh Point Lane at 1507 and 1510; Turtleback Trail at Conservation Area adjacent to 1410 and 1418; Wild Heron

Way southside, north of round-about; Sweetbay Trail Pond; East Water Oak Bend at pond; and

East Lakewalk Conservation Area between E. Lakewalk and Wild Heron Way

If you have any questions or if additional information is needed, please feel free to contact me at the letterhead address or by phone at

    850-481-6824.

    Sincerely,

    Bethany Womack
